Pleasant restaurant and bar in a tropical garden.
One of the only restaurant in town where you will never be sick.
Large choice of pizzas, burgers, steaks, fish and salads.
Service can be quite long during week ends.
Prices are quite high but in line with other expatriates restaurants in town.

We eat on Cote de Jardin on a regular basis- there is often a happy hour meeting there on Tuesdays, as well as business dinners or sometimes we just walk up there to pick up a pizza to go, having a drink at the bar while we wait. The menu has the usual fare; some salads, some steaks, some pizzas, etc. It is regular prices for the expat scene in Ndjamena, which is expensive compared to other developing nations, but as far as the "nice" restaurants in town, it is not too pricey.
Also, their bathroom is consistently clean and has toilet paper- a rarity in Africa!

The setting is nice, with lots of vegetation and pleasant background music, very lively. Service is good for local standards, although it has some serious flaws (and you should always check your bill at the end !). Food is acceptable but not great, and I have had cases of rotten food too, for which no apology was given, but still, it is fine for local standards. The menu comprises international, French, and African dishes, as well as pizzas and pastas. Pizzas are good (although not Italian style), while pastas are heavily overcooked and oily. Some of the fish and meat dishes are good, but you should not put too much hope in those that sound too good. Costs are a bit high.
