I stayed here for a work meeting. From the moment I walked in, I was disappointed. The hotel purports to be high end, but is in dire need of a serious face lift. The walls are chipped and cracked. The rooms are shabby, with black mold in between the tiles, smudges on the curtains, and peeling paint in the entry. There were three hangers in the closet - maybe enough for one night, but not for a several day business trip. The swimming pool is filled with green water. The pillows are hard as rocks. The AC was not working in my room, so I tried to sleep with the window open. But with a room on the street, there was loud talking, music, and activity until past 4am making it hard to sleep.
On the plus side, there is free wifi, though you have to ask for a new login and password each time you want to access it. The buffet breakfast was good, though pricey. And there's a small gym in the basement with a very nice staff person to assist you - though the opening hours (8am-9pm) are a bust if you want an early workout, though good if you want to go in the evening
If your expectations are low, you'll be fine. But it does not live up to the name "Palace" nor the 4-star rating, by far.

This is a new hotel which has not trained its staff very well as yet. The rooms are almost reasonable, but the service is very poor and very slow and the hotel is very expensive. There is a lift and the one positive point is that there is an ATM in the lobby so that one can get local cash (CFA) at a reasonable exchange rate to pay for the bill (most other hotels make 10% to 20% on foreign currency payments vis a vis the bank). We went to get a meal and there was almost nothing on the menu - one local dish only! The meal took about 40 mins to arrive and was cold when it came. Ordered a beer and had to go back to bar to re-order as they had forgotten - still took 25mins to bring the beer to the table. Was very expensive (60,000 CFA per night) moved to the Tou'ngou hotel the next day - good service, good food, pleasant staff and half the price (30,000 CFA per night)

Djeuga Palace is a 4 stars hotel in the capital of Cameroon, Yaoundé. It is certainly a good hotel, being in an African city, but for nothing a palace.
Very well located downtown, from here it is very easy to move everywhere in the centre.
The room has a good surface with all what we need, a large bathroom, a security box, free access to internet through wifi (even very slow), clear, with a desk, flat tv, and a large and good quality bed. The staff is helpfull, a good breakfast, a pool (but empty for reaccomodation), and a fitness center. No charm, nothing special, but a regular place at a good level of price (the hotels are very expensive in Africa). A good place for a business stay, but don't hope to have a charming resort where spend nice moment, just a place where to work in a comfortable condition. In Yaoundé, certainly a place to be

Had to book our Event in one of their function hall on the 3rd floor and so was ask to pay for the reservation as early as possible since its first come first serve basis, but the day before our event we called the reservations to inform them that we're going to drop by to the hotel and will pay for the remaining balance but the staff said that the hall was fully paid already by other company. and they transferred our reservations to this disgusting hall in the basement. how come you're telling your customer that its first come first serve and then you will accommodate other customers? they didn't even bother to inform our team that they transferred us. and the Sales and marketing manager is even hiding in his office and cannot explain what happened, they will pass you to different person to another like a basketball since they cannot give any explanation. poor customer service and un-professionals!this hotel shouldn't be 4 stars hotel!

I stayed here for 3 nights arriving from Zurich on the Swiss Air flight which arrives late. Check in fine. Correspondence by email for booking is fine too. I asked for a high floor and a premium room as I'd read about noisy disco on ground floor - so it was relatively quiet up high. No bottled water available in the rooms - empty room fridge and restaurants/bars closed as flight arrived late. Staff initially refused to supply bottled water - took a lot of pushing until a security guard opened a store room on the 1st floor. Staff were generally pretty poor/lazy - you'll need to be assertive to get things done. I asked to send a postcard when I checked out and they wanted $US100 to do it for me. Room is functional - tiled floor, hard bed but comfortable, air-con worked ok, windows opened and I felt secure enough. A good African hotel. A currency change office in the hotel is handy. Take Swiss Francs/Euros/USD. Location is pretty central but I arranged my own driver instead of taking hotel shuttle 45 mins from Airport.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room to reduce noise and email ahead for bottled water in your room.

Had to particpate in a meeting in Yaounde recently and the two options where either to stay at the Hilton or Djeuga Palace. Since the rest of my team chose to stay at the Djeuga, i stayed as well. Firstly, i found Yaounde chilly and we all needed light jackets and sweaters especially at night - i didn't anticipate this for August in Central Africa, so be prepared - it is indeed the city that is surrounded by hills!

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to assist. The hotel is clean, rooms are roomy and each has a refridgerator. Having read the reviews, we requested for rooms on the 6th floor and up, as well as at the back - so were not disturbed by the club or street noises. The first night we arrived however i was shocked to see young girls 'hawking their trade' right inside the hotel lobby. They sat in groups on the chairs and i asked the hotel staff, why they don't ask them to stay outside and the reply i got was that - they just come right back in? So they had given up and let them seat inside the lobby. Someone complained of several knocks on his door in the middle of the night - which also could mean that they get on the elevator, go to different floors and solicit door to door?

The carpets in the meeting rooms and hall ways are old, dusty and leave a lingering, moldy and musty smell around.

The lunch had a good variety but the breakfast was the same - though the range of selection gave a lot of choices and included, fruits, cold cuts, breads, a la carte eggs, sausages etc.

I hope my review doesn't come across as unhappy, because i did enjoy my stay at Djeuga and had already become acquainted with several helpful staff at the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the 6th Floor and up, as well as at the back

The pros: internet works, hotel staff are friendly, rooms are OK, cleanliness is good.
The cons: how to keep that list short.... struggle struggle... you cannot control your room temperature and even when you turn off the AC totally it still blows, everywhere else at the hotel is cooled as if they were conserving meat there. Coffee is not good, might as well bring along your own and ask for hot water. Bedding is good BUT sleep quality is not all about the bedding... no matter what side your room is you will wake up at 3 AM to the sound of the base, now if you're on the street side, your tossing and turning trying to sleep will extend till around 6AM because of the taxis honking, fights, loud arguments, exploding laughs in the street. Not the best recipe for a working day next. On top of that it's quite expensive both compared to what's on offer in town and to the value you get for it.
My recommendation: avoid

Room Tip: Pick the highest floor possible to the pool side, otherwise sleepless nights guaranteed.
