a disturbing place where animals are kept in awful conditions. I think it is substandard for a country that already has several sanctuaries and a zoo.

We allocated one day to check out the animal parks in the city. We first went to the other zoo in Yaounde (the name escapes my memory), and afterwards we headed to Ecopark.
The only negative thing about this place was that it was VERY difficult to find. No one seemed to know where it was... But I'm sure that this will soon change as it was a very new area.
We were the only visitors when we came, and unfortunately the clouds began to roll in. We paid for a visit and to take a ride on the horse. Our guide only spoke french (my husband translated almost everything). He knew tons about the animals and informed us that most of them were rescued and brought up by him. This became obvious when he took animals, like the chimp, out of their enclosures, they absolutely loved him. Our guide was so friendly, and offered to take many photos of us. Unfortunately it started to rain and he insisted that we take cover at the restaurant and return for the rest when the weather cleared. The restaurant was very nice, we sat on a porch area and drank a class of wine. It didn't seem like the weather was going to clear after awhile, so our guide came back to us and refunded some of our money.
Overall we were very pleased with the animal experience and the customer service. Highly recommend!

The area is pretty new and there are some areas still under construction. The potential is nonetheless huge. The are many species of animal and activities to do. It is even possible to have delicious barbecue. We loved it.

Almost no other visitors. Interesting info from the guide and it was interesting. Nice restaurant which we did not visit (it was morning) but meant to be good.
