Description: MY REVIEW: Chez Simon is a cheaper (for someone on a foreigner budget) Lebanese restaurant and pastry shop right downtown. It is located less than a block from the Splendide Hotel (turn right on the main road when you go out the door and walk 50m). At noon, you eat inside; in the evenings they also have tables set up out front in the parking area in front of the Avenue Kwame N'Krumah. Their food is simple but good - the daily menu is supposed to be a good deal - and all is very clean (I always eat their salads and have never gotten an upset stomach). It is a good option for an easy snack or lunch/dinner especially if you are staying at the nearby Splendide, Palm Beach or Yibi Hotels. And, being Lebanese, it is also a good option for vegetarians. Like the Verdoyant, it is one of the few low-to-mid priced restaurants where I always eat at when travelling to Ouagadougou.

“A Salad and some cookies”
Reviewed November 2, 2011

The place to eat up your greens, even if your doctor told you not to! And finish off with a couple of cookies and one of the best expressos in town.

“what simon says, I'll do”
Reviewed October 30, 2011

it seems like you can't go wrong here. the menu is large and varied, from Lebanese mezze to burgers to omelettes to pasta, but they've always had whatever it was i wanted. i think the prices are extremely reasonable, given the portion sizes and the quality of the food. lunch in the air conditioned dining room, but for dinner, take advantage of sidewalk seating, where the people watching is as enjoyable as the house-made (they say) ice cream.

“Nice downtown Lebanese snack/ pastry store / restaurant”

“Clean, fresh, escape from the hot Ouaga sun”
Reviewed August 1, 2010

Tucked into a strip of shops along Avenue Kwame N'Krumah, Chez Simon is a refreshing stopover for brunch, lunch or dinner. It's clean, it's cool, the food is fresh, the coffee strong, the service prompt. We dipped in for omelettes, fresh squeezed juice and pancakes - the latter dripping in honey and bananas - and we were impressed enough to be drawn bak a few hours later for lunch of shish taouk and salad. All tasty. In the evening, they have tables out on the front patio, so you can soak up some street ambience.
