The restaurant location in our lonely planet was wrong. It is located at the United Nations roundabout on the avenue Dimdolossom.

The place was empty & it was almost 22:00h we asked if they were closed. But it wasn't, no one was there. everything we had read in the travel guide wasn't. We asked about the place and how come it was so empty. They told us that people usually came at a later hour.

We left and went to another restaurant, which was lovely and was full of customers. We later passed the gigot restaurant on our way home and saw that it was just an empty restaurant with no customers.

Un samedi soir vers 22h personne ce soir.
Ce restaurant à perdue sa popularité.

This is a great restaurant in Ouagadougou: the manager is very nice and involved in ensuring everyone is well attended. The waitresses are very nice and move in the restaurant on rollerblades.
My friend and I ate beef brochettes and we ended up being seduced by the famous Gigot a la Ficelle that they had prepared for us.

There is plenty of seating space but I have heard it get very crowded on weekend given this is very popular place.

As the name of the restaurants says, sheep is the name of the game. Legs of lambs grilled on an outdoor fire while hanging on a string.

The rest of the food is adequate but not very memorable. The service, young men and women on rollerskates, is fast and friendly.

Don't miss the Gigot a la Ficelle ("Leg of lamb on a string") for a nice meal and a fun time. The restaurant is near the river, ther'es a pleasant open garden and bar; you are greeted by statuesque and charming women on roller blades who glide around serving a full menu that includes pizzas, all kinds of meat and fish and the usual range of beer, wine and spirits. The specialty legs of lamb hang from a string roasting beside a blazing log hearth. This takes a long time to prepare and you can order in advace by phone (in French). One whole leg is not too much for one person, and the meat is on the stringy side but very tasty, and the accompanying veggies are good (try the manioc). There's a juggling and acrobatics show starting at around 8:45 PM but the rollerblading ladies alone make this a "vaut le voyage".
