There is no disputing that the Gondwana has a very unique atmosphere, and exudes elegance through its many different corners, including a Tuareg tent and beautiful West African art (these are copies, but still worth looking at). It makes for a romantic evening, and hopefully looking in the eyes of your partner will kill time until the food arrives. Service is painfully slow, but then this is not rare in Ouagadougou. We found the food very decent, if not exceptional. Excellent, if unexpected, Vietnamese nems, and very tasty capitaine in various guises, from marinated to grilled. A perfect place for special occasions.
