Cresta President is a standard hotel in the middle of Gaborone. This is a great city by the way. I loved the tranquility and calm organization of Gabz. The hotel was average, however. Very slow check in...part of a norm in Gabz. Slower check out. NO BREAKFAST. That is a no no when charging $160 for a basic room. Good satellite TV but average WiFi...have to keep getting a new card. I spend three nights there. Food was average in the restaurant and very expensive. Room was clean and bed and A/C excellent. But the hotel was very average and lost me by not including breakfast.

Simple hotel

The room was spacious, clean and well decorated, however the heat was a nightmare, the aircon seriously needs to be up graded, my partner ended up sleeping next to the open refrigerator door the way it was so hot!

The next morning we woke up early and left for our next destination before the heat set in again.

The parking is also slightly dodge, but we were put at ease knowing it opposite a police station.

Overall the rooms are great but would most likely visit in winter again.

Stayed 2 nights in August 2012. Very helpful, friendly staff, Jean at the reception was extra nice and always smiling.
An efficient check-in with that kind of smile, is really welcoming for a weary traveller.

The rooms were clean, though did have issues with the in room safe and a power problem in the first room I checked in.
Had to change 2. More rooms, before I could get a working safe.

The restaurant has a variety of choices, and even as a strict vegetarian, I had no trouble getting tasty dishes.

The ambience is great, the staff with their smiles and helpful attitudes a joy.
While it may not bethe best of available choices in Gaborone, it is definitely value for money, and what it lacks in amenities, is more than made up for by the gracious staff

Definitely recommend it

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the main mall.

I enjoyed the location in the city centre, it felt easier to connect with city life in Gaborone. The room did not have great airconditioning and the city was hot, but life was quite tolerable and the sleep and bathroom were great. My room looked out onto the main square. Wifi Internet only operated from the bar so I spent a lot of time there (!), enjoyed meeting local film stars in the restaurant. Worked late one night and found a great bar to relax on a top floor/roof across the other side of the main mall square. I realize that when they say your shuttle is "booked" you need to ask to see the book and where it is written in. The staff were super friendly and helpful and that is the main reason to go back, plus I enjoyed to be in heart of the city,

A nice and clean hotel in the center of the old main mall. Note that Gaborones main mall is very tired now, and has lost its competition with all the new shopping centers. But it still has its charm, so don't worry! If you are staying for long I would advise you to rather stay at a hotel with a pool, since it can be a bit hot and stuffy in the mall, especially for children. But you can be cooled of at the terrace, at the Maa Ramothswes corner, this is just great!! And you will never get tired of looking at people passing by! Nice staff, nice food and a lot of options around if you want to eat out. Tourist office just outside the hotel entrance.

Room Tip: Higher floors to avoid traffic noise.
