We stayed there for two nights during our recent trip to Botswana. It felt like we were in a 4-5star hotel in Aus. Clean, neat rooms.

This hotel is well equipped and maintained, clean and offers a very good standard of service. Although the rooms feel a little dated (and excessively carpeted), the internet and AC works and the food is of a high standard, with an outdoor cafe with very pleasant live music or the Beef Baron steak restaurant to choose from. In short, a good choice for a business trip to Gaborone.

Customer service was excellent at all levels from bellhops to reception, housekeeping and the restaurants. I stayed on the 5th floor, and would plan to do so again on my next trip. I had no problems with the wi-fi signal, and the room itself was equipped with everything I needed...including a great view of the pool! One note for business travelers -- the business center doesn't open until 0800; I didn't know this, and was fortunate to get some last-minute assistance from the 5th floor receptionist. Again, great place to stay in Gabs!

Room Tip: If you get on the 5th floor, juice, coffee, tea and snacks are available from morning to night.

The Palms was built in modular form so don't expect interesting architecture - but the rooms are comfortable and clean. If you want wi-fi access then make sure you are on the 5th floor. They will sell you airtime without explaining the poor or absent signal on other floors. The restaurant is very good. Beef is ubiquitious in Bots and the steaks here are very good. There's also a fair selection of other dishes so you at least get a chance to vary your diet.
The pool and surrounds are well kept and the little pool bar/cafe is a great spot to relax. Just watch out for the monkeys. They don't seem to want to ineract with people but they will steal the sugar sachets from your table.
The hotel is a bit pricey and not near the "centre" of town but it has the Gaborone Convention Centre on one side and a casino on the other - if that;s your thing. If you haven't been to Botswana - put it on your list. The wildlife is fantastic!

Room Tip: Make sure you get the 5th floor if you want wi-fi.

Nice hotel with beautifull location and excellent, friendly service. The hotel does understand the meaning of "guest relations"!
Great and very reasonable priced food, at the Beef Baron restaurant, certainly for those who like a good steak or a local fish. The breakfast is a bit overpriced for those, like me, who would only have a toast and a coffee in the morning.
I stayed for 4 weeks and will return on my next visit.
The room was good, perfect AC and well maintained, although I never like a wall to wall carpet in a hotel room.
