Hey.... this is really an awesome place to go and visit...

We were their on holiday in December.

The service that we have received was 5 star and all of the staff members was really friendly at all times.....
Mr van der walt and he's go workers are really the best and that's why we have decided to return this year again and make it another memorable vacation...

Well done Lion Resort..... Best ever...

Spent New Year's day at the lion Park with family and friends. WE had a whole lot of kids between us, ranging from 6 to 18 years. It was very full that day, but luckily we arrived early and got a good spot. Most of the rides were working and the staff were friendly, for the most part. Liked the fact that they cleaned up throughout the day, but did not like multiple searches at the gate. Everyone had fun that day, most important part. Paying extra to view the lions is an added addition that to put it in kids' language - SUCKS! Too many charges guys, lighten up. The cover charge should include viewing the lions at LION PARK?

I will preface my review by saying that the four stars are based on the fact that this is in Gabs. In no way could I compare this place to the theme parks in the USA. It is best to think of Lion Park Resort more in the realm of a permanent carnival or fair. Admission is very reasonable (P65 for adults, P50 I think for kids, around P30 for adult that is not riding rides). There are additional fee options like paint ball, dune buggies, the roller coaster and visiting the lions. We did not take the time to do any of the additional options on our first visit. The water park is pretty modest. There is a large pool that has waves a few times an hour. There are two slides that are pretty fun for big kids. There is a kiddie pool. For rides, aside from the roller coaster, they have a carousel, Ferris wheel (great views from the top), train (lasts about 2-3 minutes), swing, spinning ride for big kids/adults, tea cups (little kids), cars (little kids), elephants (little kids), and spinning seashells (kids and adults). The rides are really old and worn down but you can ride them as much as you want with a general admission. There is plenty to keep kids and adults busy. There is a restaurant but for us the service was very slow (worse than typical Gabs slow food service). They have chicken and beef burgers and ham and cheese sandwiches. Pretty limited menu but you are not allowed to bring in your own food (perhaps with a fee they allow it?). They should upgrade the food offerings if you are not allowed to bring your own. While pretty limited on the scale of amusement parks, this park was a nice surprise for a fun day just outside Gabs.

Whether a family outing or kids party, the Lion Park Resort is a great day out. The pools and slides are aimed at all ages, and the rides add an extra dimension. The food and drinks are pretty good and reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly. At weekends there's a DJ, plus a screen in the pub showing whatever sport is on, so even Dad might find something to entertain! You can braai, camp, paintball and visit the lions too. Lots going on here.

Its nothing to write home about if you have been to bigger theme Parks like gold reef city. Would recommend that you go there for the kids as they will enjoy the swimming and rides more.
