Has a Good bread served as a starter. Very good 600g ribs plate! The price may be a little overrated...

Prices are over the top. Ordinary wines selling at 6+ times the retail price.

Food also expensive. Boring menu. Rare steak is served well-done. The waiter casually commented that mash was no longer available and had been replaced with salad as the dish was placed in front of a guest.

Waiter: "How was your meal?"
Guest: "This steak was not rare, it was well done"
Water: "OK"

Expensive, overcooked meat, bad attitude. Avoid.

The worst place to eat in Gaborone.

The place is supposed to be the top restaurant in town and lives of its location in a **** Grand Palm Hotel.
I ate there on a few occasions. The name suggests that steak is there speciality. Far from it. U get good steak at many places in Botswana, Beef Baron is not one of them. Mine were inevitably tough, overcooked and the excuse was an insult.

We stayed at the hotel and decided to try this restaurant. The service was excellent and the bread was delicious. Prices are slightly above average, but this is expected in a business hotel. But the steaks were badly overcooked - a culinary crime in southern Africa.

This last point could likely have been overlooked were it not for the fact that I got food poisoning from my meal. It could only have come from this restaurant, as all other food or drink came from my own house and its quality was beyond reproach. My companion was fine, thankfully. Five days of meetings were lost due to this incident, at great cost to my employer.

Therefore, I can say without hesitation that a return trip to this establishment is not intended. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Slow service and the food arrive not really warm enough. Salty. Medium means well done so order one down to get what you want. Usual problem in Africa where only well done is the norm. Very expensive compared to other restaurants in town. For the executive that his company pays the bills and wants to eat at the hotel where he is staying for security and convenience.
