One usually finds that a restaurant with a captive customer base ie. hotel guests, become complacent.
This was not the case at the Beef Baron, we were a party of nine friends at one table, believe me getting the orders for nine people with a vegan thrown in is not easy.
Wine order taken and three bottels of water, one sparkling served we did not have long to wait for our starters, which were well presented and very tasty. As usual dishes were passed around "You should try some of this,, what did you get? can I try some?".
The table cleared and not to long our main arrived....My fillet done in olive oil and black pepper rare, was delicious and no complaints around the table.
Topped off with dessert of chocolate "this or that" and creme brule and espresso closed the evening off well.
The reason I focus on the time and service is that some dignitary was also staying in the hotel and the place was packed, so for nine people to be well fed and watered in a matter of three hours, from sit down to walk out, was not bad.
The price, although not inexpensive, was reasonable for the hotel we were in and cheaper than room service, so at the end of the day everybody was happy.
The atmosphere was pleasant and condusive to conversation and relaxation, decorated in "African".
I only have one complaint, and this is true of nearly all restaurants, the tables are too close together, in that you always know that the waiters are turning sideway to move with the plates between the tables. You should not penalize an establishment because of its success, so it is forgiven.
