Serious shortage of good hostelry in this growing city. Gaborone Hotel was possibly a top place when it was built and has seen a lot of wear since then. Only an option if everything better is full, or else you want to be near the bus station, or in a central location where you can walk to everything. Rooms have the essentials. Furniture a bit battered. AC, internet and TV all function. Bathroom and hot water good. Despite first impression, desk staff and housekeeping is conscientious and competent. There is Forex at fair exchange, a restaurant, small bar, and casino at the Hotel. Rate was about $50 for executive room, with slight discount on weekends. Will be nice when the new Holiday Inn comes on line soon, but if I was ever transiting Gaborone again with bus departure/arrival, wouldn't have reservations about staying here again if worse came to worst.
