“One of the better Gabs hotels”

Hotel is basic with nice rooms. Clean and not badly maintained. Gym equipment needs servicing ang espresso machine was out of order in Chatters. Staff are very helpful and eager to please. Prices are reasonable for Gaborone. Better than Gabs Sun by a mile

The hotel seems overpriced but maybe this is the local market, however please note that the room rate does NOT include breakfast which is charged at USD 18 per person. By way of comparison the all you can eat meat buffet at the Brazilian Rodizio is the same price! I did not bother trying the food at dinner and just jumped in a cab and headed for river walk mall - the taxi should cost no more than 30 pula one way. The small shopping centre is OK for picking up snacks and soft drinks but you cannot buy any alcohol there.

If you are prepared to pay the room rate then you will get a nice room - they are exactly as shown in the headline photo. The big drawback and the reason that I would not stay at the hotel is the all but useless wifi - I walked around the hotel with my laptop looking for a 'hotspot' but to no avail. In the evening it is not even possible to have a Skype conversation. Just not good enough for a hotel charging 5 star prices and certainly not for people travelling on business.

Special mention to the room maid who put everything in place as it should be and the guy from engineering who showed me how to turn on the AC (plug hidden behind the curtain in case you are looking), plug in the fridge and put new batteries in the room safe. Now why was all that not checked before I moved in?

Stayed here for nearly 2 weeks for a conference, and found it to be clean and pleasant. My only complaints would be (1) that the wifi only worked in the bathroom of my room, but others in our party did not have that problem so it may just have been because I was in one of the less central rooms, and (2) breakfast was quite expensive if not included in your rate. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful, food in the dining room was excellent (but don't expect it to be fast, especially for dinner), facilities were nice, and the grounds were spacious and beautifully landscaped. There is a shopping center just next door that was handy for getting snacks and light meals (fridge in room made this easy) and there are some interesting shops (wooden beads make lightweight and fun souvenirs, for example) as well as a couple of convenient ATMs.

Room Tip: If internet access is important to you, ask for a room near the router.

So, stayed here recently during a work trip, on the recommendation of a colleague. Cresta Lodge is a large hotel, just outside town next to one of the new highways encircling Gaborone. It's a pleasant place, oriented towards business types, with large, clean rooms, and decent (though pricey) breakfast (at 11USD). Bar area (which also does meals) is a good place to chill, with friendly staff. Reception staff a little snippy at times, however. Wi-fi is fine, if occasionally intermittent.

One pleasing thing - they did my laundry in about 7 hours, at no extra charge, which was cool :)

Room Tip: All the rooms seem fine - maybe I'd recommend an upstairs room for better views.

Went on a business trip for a couple of days. The lodge is a little bit out of town - but easy to access. Room clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. My colleague had proplems with Internet. It was sweltering hot - so was good to be able to make use of the pool after work. The one side of the pool is well maintained - they can invest in sorting out the other side as well - the chairs and tables by the pool good - not sure if it is enough when fully booked.

Room Tip: I was on the ground floor in room 204 a non smoking area - quite happy with it as it was nice and qu...

If an hotel has a swimming pool, it needs to be clean. Never seen one so filthy anywhere. How can you possibly charge 144 pula per person for breakfast ? We went without. One of our party is allergic to tomato and gave the instruction to the waiter emphatically with the order. We were a party of 5. Over a period of 1hr 20 mins two people had received their food and three times the tomato allergic person was served with tomatoes. Wi-fi did not work the whole two nights of our stay and every time we went to reception, the same, helpful ladies were there. When we found out what their hours of work were, we were horrified and felt for them. It's a standard issue impersonal hotel, complete with broken drawers in the bedside tables and a shower which flooded the bathroom floor. Clearly, nobody cares.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel

Went there for a conference at the hotel, as it is a little out of town centre. Room was comfortable and clean, all worked well. It took 3 trips to reception to the get the right information about the wifi network in the room, but then it worked fine, the central areas wifi was good. Sleeping was comfortable and good and I enjoyed the restaurant meals and breakfasts. Enjoyed the gym.
