Mussulo is a great place 30mn spead boat to escape from Luanda and enjoy beach and relax for a weekend. The Ssulo resort is showing very nice with beach and beach bar area, and swimming pool apart. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a romantic terrace on the sea. Rooms are nice and comfortable, although quite expensive for what it is. The beach beds are really old and not convenient, just wood beds not adjustable and that can hardly be moved.
But... service is really lousy and not friendly at all. The boat that picked us up was basic, while the return boat was a lot more comfortable. It takes ages to get your food, even with no other customer... or anything, still waiting for my beach towel and the barcelet we were supposed to get when checking in to avoid staff trying to charge you for beds on the beach even though you explain you are hosted there ! At the restaurant, choice was limited by availability, I asked for shrimp and avocado salad and avocado was replaced with papaya without any notice nor ask.
Overall too expensive for what it is, the property is seriously needing maintenance (swimming pool toilets were closed), might be worth checking out and comparing other accomodation options in Mussulo which remains a very nice and recommendable getaway.

The resort is located in a very nice part of the Mussulo island and attention has been paid to the overall design. First impression when you arrive is very nice. Then, problems start. They booked the wrong room (although confirmed by email...), the suite is very basic with a poorly designed bath and gives you a sense of hospital room, there is nothing on the walls, most items in the restaurant menu were not available in the first day (all meet was out!), service is lousy and takes too long (and it was a very quite winter weekend), Definitely a place to avoid in crowded times.

Great speed boat ride over. Beautiful approach, Palm fringed sleepy island.
The resort is very peaceful, colourful flowers and Palm trees at every corner. Ideal for a weekend get away. Spacious, clean and comfortable bedroom, good shower and tv.
I hung out at the relaxed pool since the beach beds were all taken- get to beach early!! Pool lovely and serene. Perfect for some peace and quiet and a cold beer.
Nice restaurant, good selection of wines.
Book early when coming on a weekend, get up early if u want a beach bed, and if u want to use spa, again ring up and book treatment (massage) in advance!
Definitely recommend this place!
My main conclusion: peaceful, pretty and beautiful scenery.

We had a gorgeous long weekend here. Weather was fantastic. It was very quiet due to being the dry season (off peak). We were often the only family eating in the restaurant and lying on the beach but we enjoyed the peace. Do prepare to have your eyes pulled out though - 1000 Kwanza (£5) for a bottle of mineral water is one to mention.

Food was nice. Service was good.

Private speed boat to pick up and drop off at port and a beautiful walk along the wooden bridge.

Definitely worth a stay.
