“Be alert”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

If you decide to go for a swim, make sure there are at least two or more of you. Always ensure that at least one person is watching your clothes and any valuable that you take to the beach (although common sense dictates that in Luanda you should never take anything of value with you to the beach) as there are a lot of opportunist thieves, as a lot of the population do not much in the way of money.

“Close to Luanda”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

For any visitor in Luanda, go to Ilha de Mussulo. It is dificult to believe it is Luanda in the other side of the bay. Mussulo is relaxing and Luanda is stressful.

“Nice place to get away to from Luanda”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

Take a ferry to the island for a relaxing day on the beach and a good meal at one of the restaurants. Well worth a visit. Accommodation available if you want to spend a night.

“Faded memory of a paradise”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

The overwhelming construction of luxury houses that are non environmentally friendly, plus the sectioning of huge lots into private properties has taken away from this paradise its original form and natural beauty.
Today, this is equivalent to the normal Ilha de Luanda, where nature is not easily found.
Not to mention the exageration of boats, skys, jets, etc that keep the noise always at a polluted level and the water with a suspicious oily look and feel!

“Running along the ocean beach is a fantastic escape”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Running along the ocean beach is a fantastic escape from Luanda. Get dropped off where the spit meets the mainland (south of Benfica) and run as far as you want. When you are tired head over to the mainland side and flag down a boat to Embarcado to meet your driver.
