The route from the main road to the restaurant entrance has that familar unfinished look as is common in Lunada but once you see the entrance of the restaurant faith is restored. You are welcomed by staff and shown to a table of your choice (some outside on the deck overlooking the private beach, others inside an air-conditioned bar or the teppenaki room.

The caipirinhas are fantastic (I can recommend the black passion fruit one) and the sushi platters are as good as any major city in the world with the addition of some local variations. Equally the "conventional" food looks good to: seafood pastas, club sandwiches, etc.

The service is some of the better that I have experienced in my month in Luanda but it is still relaxed!

With the private beach you could make a day of it but as with everywhere in Luanda, you'll pay for it.

A mountain of sushi and two caipirinhas cost USD80.

This is a stunning looking piece of architecture on the beach with several modules - open and air-conditioned. With several spacious water features. Run by Japanese Brazilians (Sao Paulo is home to Japan's largest overseas population). Local staff under-attentive. Food very good - the Brazilians have modified some of the dishes a sacrilege to Japanese cuisine. But Angola's seas are extremely rich so no shortage of the best seafood. The food is pretty expensive but Luanda is perhaps the dearest on the planet at the moment. For three our bill came to around $340.

We had a lovely quiet dinner out at Shogun. It was my first time there and was very impressed. The Decor was very trendy, The food was fantastic, the staff were attentive and our chef spoke english, so that was helpful. We ate at the Teppanyaki bar and on a Friday night there was only one other couple. Might have had something to do with the heafty charge of $200 PP USD. Drinks are very expensive $21 USD for Bombay and Tonic, so I had a local beer for $6. The men drank Sake and enjoyed that... They served us 11 different items one after the other and they were ALL fantastic.... The Kobi beef was delicious, but it was served toward the end and I was very full by then. The servings were generous and so the $200 charge was likely fair. The only complaint that I had was the seating around the Teppanyaki bar. The tiny, short little chairs were bolted to the floor and sat too far away from the table.. I am not a big person and found myself very uncomfortable for the whole meal...

Great food, great decoration, very expensive. Has different lounge areas and beach facilities. The music tends to be loud.
