“Nice, friendly and tasty”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

Nice, friendly and clean space.
People are very friendly, educated and fast. The food is very good and tasty.
Although prices a bit high, you can always go for some less expensive choices.
The window full of delicious looking cakes is worth looking at, and possibly taste it.
They have take-away service.

“Sparkingly clean and well-run”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

Al Dar looks every bit like a Portuguese cake shop but is much more. When you get past the tempting, very fresh-looking pastries in shiny cases then you come into what looks like a buffet but isn't. Each dish on display is a choice and you can't mix and match. Food was pretty appetising and staff are alert.
Luanda is ridiculously expensive but Al Dar appears to think there's a trade-off with its hyper-hygiene and quality food, and adds about 30% to the price of a meal. A main course costs $35 and this comes with a free (I'm not sure coz I didn't eat it) basket of pitta bread and dips.
Biggest shock was to be charged $11 ELEVEN dollars for a fresh orange juice. Is this a world record ???? !!
So, go by all means to this pleasant enough place but read the menu first to avoid a near heart-attack.

“Good prices and excellent Lebanese food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

Everyone knows that Lebanese food is the best one in the Middle East. Although it is obviously not the same of dining in Beirut, Al Dar will not disappoint you. Excellent to go with friends, so that each can order different food and everyone can experiment a little of everything.

“A nice place where Angolan and Lebanese employees are like a family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2012

Al Dar is a Lebanese Restaurant at Muculusso, Luanda. Near Sagrada Familia Church and Clinica Vida. A nice place where Angolan and Lebanese employees are like a family. Very educated and professionals. Tasty food, but not so affordable. The pastry, very expensive, is one of the best in town.

“Standard Lebanese”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Efficient Lebanese which also does excellent pastries and cakes. Cafe style restaurant which is a bit noisy. A bit more expensive than El Amir (Opposite Movicel) run by another branch of the same family and often don't have Tabouleh. I also prefer El Amir's restaurant which is quieter. But Aldar has a better selection of cakes and sweets. El Amir has a fresh juice bar though.
