Average hotel, large compound and a breakfast menu added to your reservation. Room was damp on arrival had to change for another which was fine. There's internet although the speed may be terrible to work with. Courteous staff, no one speaks any amount of English - which could be hectic getting help. Hotel is quite pricey, a single from was around 27k KZ. Which is roughly $100+.

You simply cannot compare hotels in Luanda to hotels in eastern or southern Africa on a price-vs-luxury basis. Impossible! Luanda is a very expensive place to live , eat or visit... So, in the light of this... comparing Luanda hotels woth Luanda hotels... Vila Alice is not a bad place. Clean and neat. Small but enough for business. Meals are not bad and have strong Portuguese influence... if pork belly and scoriso is not your thing... find another place to eat, but you can still stay here... This is great for business on a Luanda dollar budget.

First of all, this is Luanda, so until crisis and currency devaluation brings prices to something comparable to other cities, you will still be paying an harm and a leg for a limited place like this. As i write this for the same price I would easily get a 4 star hotel in New York or London, in Luanda you get a average, poorly kept motel ...

However, Vila Alice is decent so it ends up having one of the best quality / price relations in this really expensive city.

The room is spacious and has everything you need. However, after staying for a while you get to appreciate the quality of chinese build (something that plagues Luanda). Everything is half-broken, there is absolutely no acoustic isolation of the room, so brace your selves to be woken at 3 am with the generator starting, someone honking in the parking lot or on Saturdays loud music coming from a party near by.

To help with the silence, the room is equipped with a special "extra-noisy" mini-bar, which i recommend you disconnect the first you come into the room (the next day you will find the room flooded with water, that is just the ice on the freezer melting away).

The hotel has a restaurant that never disappoints, the food is consistently bad and on occasion you won't be able to eat and will have just to stuck with the soup.

I have stayed several times in Vila Alice Hotel, due to my other options be fully booked.
The hotel is clean, but very basic. The bar is very limited, there are not room service and they only have dinner in buffet style, which cost 35USD.

The breakfast is very poor. Wireless internet works good and there is a good selection of TV Channels.

This is the last option for me, but from all the last options, is the best.

Room tip: Choose a room on the upper floor.

I stayed in this hotel waiting between airport and joining a vessel offshore. I was here for 3 nights in April.

This hotel is absolutely fine for the European traveller in Luanda. the rooms are very much standard; clean, wifi, coffee & tea facilities, tv, ensuite, and comfortable.

hotel facilities are basic, with a small gym, bar and buffet resturaunt. The food leaves a lot to be desired in the buffet but the space is clean and the food appears properly cooked.

The price, to me, is extorinate! but from later travelling in Luanda it is quite reasonably priced! crazy prices in this city.
try and avoid the rooms on the reception side of the car park--- there is a large AC unit behind which his v.noisy.

overall a standard hotel, in a substandard city. perfect really for the expat wasting a day or two.

Room tip: room away fro reception as there is a large A/C unit nearby
