We recently enjoyed an interesting evening at Boma. We were staying at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge which provided a shuttle the short distance to Boma. Upon arrival we were met by very friendly staff, had a ceremonial face painting and a garment wrapped around us. The next step was a dance and photo op with traditionally dressed folks, then off to dinner. We chose a starter of crocodile tail and guinea fowl then could partake of the buffet. The salads were nice but our greatest discovery was the marinaded, grilled warthog. It was delicious, tender and perhaps one of the best meats we have ever eaten. All the rest of the meal was very nice, right down to the desserts but the "Pumba" was the best. We could not stay for the drumming as we had travelled extensively that day and were done. I would recommend Boma to anyone in the area.

I was very disappointed by the Boma. I've lived in Zimbabwe for a couple of years now and I know what to expect and what not to expect from service here but I found that the Boma really took the biscuit. Service was awful, nothing was explained to us in terms of the buffet, the drinks we ordered took ages to arrive, it was impossible to get a waiters attention to order a second round of drinks. The lamb on the spit by the fire ran out before we managed to get up for main course - the food in general was poor.

Compared to other restaurants at the Falls the Boma is hugely overpriced. The only redeeming features were the face-painting and drumming.

Hi there - thanks very much for your review. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the Boma experience. We get such great feedback from guests generally and it's a bit disappointing to learn that you felt it was overpriced. We need to emphasise that you are paying for a full experience, including the food, entertainment, story-telling, drumming and all the other little things that go with a fun night out at The Boma.

We do appreciate your feedback and will look into the points you made soonest.

The boma dinner is a buffet feast with fantastic entertainment.
The food was excellent, the service fantastic and the entertainment really fantastic. Great singing, dancing and drumming.
Kids loved it and really got into the singing and dancing. It was money really well spent.

The staff were all really friendly. Have the guy who comes to your table make you a 'happiness drink'- it is tasty, like apple pie, and much cheaper than the cocktails on the menu. Have your fortune read for $1 too if you are in to that kind of thing. The dancers are really good and energetic, as are the guys on drums.

The night we went the place was packed out so lines were long for food. Try the tempura broccoli, it was my favorite thing. My husband loved, loved, loved the warthog!

This place is very touristy and overwhelming so know that going in. I wouldn't want to do it again, but glad we did it once.

Be some of the last people to leave and the guys who sell bowls and wooden stuff through dinner will be out front of the restaurant with whatever they haven't sold and are willing to make great deals!

Thank Dana L

Dining is an event every evening. Entertainers get you involved with singing, bongos, face painting, fortune tellers and certificates for those who dare eat a whole Mopani worm.
