A super night out with live African music and dance, which you can become involved in. The buffet style food is amazing and there are a number of different meats to try. If you eat a Mopani worm you get a certificate. Ate Impala, Kudu, Crocodile, Warthog, but there was also fillet steak and chicken etc if you are not an adventurous eater. Great experience!

The food is unique, and we were pleased to see crocodile, warthog, boerwors, and mopani worms. Even if they weren't great, it was different food we were excited to try. Some of the buffet items were good, others, quite bad.

As for entertainment, it was just that. We enjoyed the dancers, but enjoyed the drum show and interaction much more. You've really got to be in the mood for it (or have consumed a lot of alcohol) but an open mind goes a long way.

They do try to sell you a bunch of things, and the authenticity of everything is certainly questionable. But we did enjoy our night, overall, especially the drum show (9pm, make sure you stay for it).

Hello New York. Thank you for your kind review. Your headline is right on the button - The Boma was designed specifically for tourists as Victoria Falls is a major international tourist hub and we set out to provide a festive atmosphere, interaction and a snapshot of various elements of the local culture - dancing, singing, drumming, food, etc. These elements are drawn from genuine traditions, but, of course, for those who want to witness a real-life village there are several tours available. Ours is a fun evening for international tourists and is the most unique and popular restaurant with large numbers night after night.

It is also a very important part of our commitment to uplift local communities as all the staff and entertainers are drawn from local townships and villages and they take great delight in being given such a chance in life to be part of a award-winning team. When you arrive you get an African dress robe put on and then just inside is a dance troop which you can join if you are game enough.

Inside awaits a feast of meats, salads and sweets including a full lamb (or similar) on the roast.

Entertainment is the traditional dancing and then some drum banging where everyone gets a drum to practice.

Price is US$40. All in all a great night if not slightly overpriced for Zimbabwe

Thanks for posting a positive review that overall states you experienced a great night at The Boma. I hope you might reconsider your view on the price which we have tried to trim to as fair as possible. Not only can you eat as much as you like but our costs go up compared with routine restaurants because we pay every entertainer on a professional basis...and there are several elements. So you're not just paying for a meal, but a show...like African theatre while you eat . This makes us very unique in Victoria Falls area. Jonathan Hudson. Resort General Manager. Gm@ saflodge.co,zw

Dance with the local natives, learn to play a drum with the entire crowd & get your face painted all while you enjoy an African feast!

This is not only an ethnic restaurant but also a unique cultural experience. We were warmly greeted and "properly dressed and painted" for the evening. We were also encouraged to join in and dance to the beat of the drums. Because we were there in the low season and mid-week, we did not experience the large crowds and were treated very well. The food is "interesting" but there is a wide variety and plenty to choose from. (where else can you eat crocodile tail, warthog and antelope). The entertainment continued throughout the evening. Overall it was a very fun evening.
