We spent two nights at the hotel while touring the Victoria Falls area. The hotel has a nice open and airy feeling to it. Our room was clean and comfortable, though a bit small. Everything was spotless. The food in the restaurant was fairly generic; not terrible, but nothing special, either. Service in the restaurant was mixed; excellent one night, quite slow the next. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We arranged several tours through the hotel, and everything went very smoothly.

A'Zambezi River Lodge it situated right on the bank of the Zambezi River and is only a short drive away from town and the falls, but is far enough away that you do not have the constant buzz of helicopters overhead! The lodge is split into crescent shaped buildings all facing towards to river with wonderfully furnished rooms that have all the basic amenities you might need. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and quick with a friendly hello. The food is a little on the disappointing side - being served mainly as a very basic buffet, but the staff are more than willing to arrange a taxi to take you into town to explore some other options. Dinner starts off with entertainment provided by local groups of marimba players / dancers / drummers and it sets a wonderful tone for the evening.

Our rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable, in fact too comfortable as I never woke up to see the visiting hippo that stopped by for snacks on the lawn almost every night The staff was always helpful and very knowledgeable about all the things to do around the Falls. I would definitely stay there again.

Arriving at A'Zambezi Lodge, I immediately felt a feeling of serenity, tranquility, luxury, beauty and magnificence surround me. The grounds are beautiful and being right on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River was awesome! The little warthogs running around were so cute, my kids loved them. THe swimming pool was immaculately kept and we spent quite a bit of time lazing on the loungers and ordering beautifully presented cocktails.

THe rooms are modern and well furnished, a bit small but the wonderful four poster bed made it worth it. We had a lovely view of the river and even saw a small crocodile on the bank. How totally awesome!

The food was delicious from the basic toasted sandwhiches to the breakfast, light lunches and dinner - all wonderful. The evening entertainment was vibey and we loved dancing with the locals.

I will definitely go back there again and again.

Room Tip: Choose a river facing room

Pros:
Smooth check in - we were a late check in and this was accommodated. Room was all ready.

Got there just in time for dinner. That's the one thing that never failed. The meals were always good. First time having warthog and croc tail and they were delicious. Good array of meats and veg options. Salads too. Strange that they didn't have that many fruit options.

Breakfast was my favourite meal - vast display of options. Came back a tad heavier.

Pretty grounds, well kept. Beautiful views of the river, could sit and have a drink and watch the sunset. Warthog families running around, monkeys too. Secure parking.

Rooms were quite comfortable and clean and staff attentive to needs. All basics were met.

Ten min drive from Vic falls. (free shuttles available). 5 min drive to the Vic falls town.

Cons:
The warthogs running around - they are huge...can be scary.
We didn't get the hotel directory/do not disturb tags etc in our room (we requested but only got the directory) - which made for housekeeping asking us too often if they could clean the room. can be fixed by having signs up.

All in all, I'd go back.
