A great place to stay and see Victoria Falls. Its all good. Zimbabwe is in terrible shape but its people are amonst the nicest one is going to meet. Hotel is near a watering hole for the abundance of wildlife in the area. Food was very good. The monkeys were truly amazing and very quick. A great experience. Go and see the beautiful falls. But remember, Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) was once the bread basket of Africa. We can only hope that things get better is this spot in the world. The people deserve so much better.

The views from the room is spectacular.
Unfortunately I found the service just a tad slow all around from getting my bed turned into a double bed to ordering food from the bar which took forever to arrive.
I would suggest they work on spraying the room with mosquito repellant as when I walked in, there were tons of mozzies in the room. In addition, take care of your mozzie nets, there was a hole in mine, which defeats the purpose of having a mozzie net ! The spa had only 1 therapist available so only 1 person could go in at a time.

Room Tip: Go for the club rooms

Hi to you in South Africa. Thanks four you review of our lodge and glad that you enjoyed the overall experience. If you could please email me I'd love to address some of your issues individually. Unfortunately mosqitos are a part of life in the bush and they do tend to get in and around rooms, especially if you leave doors open. We will check the netting in your room and address the problem immediately.

I stayed at the lodge for one night at the end of August while visiting the falls. The hotel is beautiful and the location near the watering hole is great for wildlife viewing. It appears as though every room as a view to the watering hole, although if you can I suggest asking for an upper level room. The staff was very friendly, and I especially surprised by the entrance from our van. The front desk already had our names and information ready for us. Since we we got there before our rooms are were ready, we had lunch and a few beers. While we were eating reception came over and let us know our rooms were good, and our bags had already been delivered, Fantastic.
The shuttle works as promised, dropping guests off at various locations in town and at the fall themselves. At night turndown service comes by to check on the rooms.

We also had dinner at the Boma restaurant, the food was very good, more of a buffet style. They put on a great show while your eating too.

In the morning we drank coffee and watched as herds of buffalo and impala came for a drink, it was fun to watch.

Zimbabwe is a wonderful country, truly wrecked by its political upheavals that has divided the country between those who have and those who do not have. We stayed at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge - a spectacular Hotel situated on a Ridge overlooking the wilds - Yes you could sit on your balcony and look at the Elephants, deer or if you are lucky at a cheetah that come to drink at the lake below. While we sat on the balcony, guards with quaint muskets patrolled below to shoot at baboons that sometimes come into the rooms. We were advised not to leave the doors or windows open. The sunsets also from the balcony are also noteworthy. The Hotel has a wonderful swimming pool rather deep and built into the façade. Breakfast is passable nothing to write home about. A little could be done on the cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel. A special mention of the staff especially the General Manager Jonathan Hudson, who personally came to greet us; something that we did not experience in any of the other hotels during our stay in the country.

Room Tip: Choose a Room on the upper storey, from where you would see a larger area of the grassland.

Great hotel, food was very good. Rest overlooking a water hole. Lot of animals coming to drink water. Just wonderful. Exotic place close to Victoria Falls and Bonsawna. Shoutles runing to town other hotels and the falls every hour. Taxis charge $10 for a ride. Shouttle will safe you some funds.
Make sure togo to Chobe Marina in Bonsowana for a boat safari trip. It was the best of four Safaris we had.

We can highly recommend the Vic Falls Safari lodge. The food was excellent. Drinks in the bar over looking the water hole before dinner is a must. The manager was attentive and helpful. The rooms could do with an update, but this didn't worry us too much everything else made up for it. We would definitely stay at the lodge again.

This hotel was our first stop in Africa and it was indeed a very nice start! Sipping a drink at the bar overlooking the waterhole and watching the beautiful African sunset! Apart from the stunning view from the bar, I also enjoyed the dining experience at the Boma restaurant where you get to taste local food and watch local dance and drum shows. The activity desk is very helpful and it was very convenient to book all the activities through them (can strongly recommend the white water rafting along the Zambezi River). The rooms are clean and most of them have a nice view of the waterhole from the balcony. The only issue we had was for some reason there were always so many mosquitos in the room and bathroom. All the beds have mosquito nets so it is not a big issue at night.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the second floor and make sure your mosquito net has no holes..

Hi there in London! We are very happy our lodge was the start of your trip! And that it turned out so great! Yes, at certain times of year the mosquitos can be quite a pain - it is strange that they made it into your room, as all the windows in the rooms have mosquito nets on them. Sometimes keeping the door open with the lights on can cause them to come in quite quickly. Anyway, it is all part of the African experience.

Hope to see you again soon,
