Wild Horizons in general seemed to be everywhere and very reliable. We did ziplinning with them and had a great time! The staff were wonderful and on time for pick-ups!

The Zambezi River is one of Outside Magazine's Top 10 rafting destinations. Enjoy spectacular views of the gorge while paddling through Class 3-5 Rapids.

Overview: High water rafting, which is less difficult than low water, starts in March/ April (depending on the volume of water) and goes from rapid 11 to 23. Low water rafting has more class 5 rapids (due to more boulders and obstacles), and usually starts in August with the most challenging runs in October. The low water trip starts at the base of the falls at rapid 1 and goes to 23 (with portage through a class 6 rapid). Both trips require moderate physical strength to hike down into the the gorge, paddle, and to hike back up. Swimming proficiency is a must.

Logistics: We were able to book the rafting trip the day prior through the hotel. We ate a hearty breakfast before pick up from the hotel at 7:20AM. Transferred to the Wild Horizons Camp for orientation and coffee/ tea. Bring a jacket in the winter since the transfer is a 30 minute ride in an open-top truck. Wear tennis shoes with socks or water shoes that you can comfortably hike in. Wear a swimsuit with a quick dry shirt and shorts. They will keep your jacket, backpack, and other belongings for you. Wallets and valuable are locked in a safety deposit box. Water, life jacket, and paddle are provided. Equipment is mediocre but seems reliable. Light lunch includes 1 chicken drumstick, meatballs, bread, and salad. Rafting guides are good but not exceptional. Cost is $130 for high-water vs $140 for low water + $10 park fee + tip. Photography is $20. Video is $60. They take Mastercard and Visa.

Overalll: The trip was a lot of fun. We did end up flipping. If possible, go during low water season for bigger thrills. Experience not required for high-water season but would be really helpful in low-water season.

We went white water rafting with Wild Horizons: professional, safe, caring, value for money. A brilliant time had, can thorouhly recommend this company. The gorge walk down and up is more strenuous than the rafting! You need to be reasonably fit!!!!!

I've done both the white water rafting and the canoe safari with this company and I'd rate them as exceptionally good, their staff are professional and friendly. The outings they provide give good value for money with a very proper attention to safety. Any visitor to Victoria Falls should include WH on their list of things to see/do while there.
