Wow! We walked into this beautiful dining area with chandeliers and Colonial old world grandeur. The grand piano was playing & although we had no reservations it was no problem (it is a huge dining area). We quickly selected the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. The tasting menu was $40 & the pairings were $30. The sommelier, Monias Kufa, was most knowledgable and charming. Not only that, each pairing was immediately poured with the course it was accompanying....something that doesn't always occur at top restaurants The host, Phillip, engaged us in conversation and was forthcoming about all things Zimbabwian. Each course was prepared with attention & tasted wonderful. The service was perfect without being cloying. This was definitely a top-drawer experience. Beautiful ambiance, good food prepared to perfection, excellent wine pairings and exemplary service at a very reasonable price.

The architecture is definitely colonial. And the bar of the hotel still sports Livingstone's hat and gun (or so they say). But thankfully that's where the Livingstone Room stops with its reference to times we happily don't have to live anymore, including their culinary, among other, crimes.
The menu has a few international classics but is generally modern, with an impressive list of South African wines, with a few French bottles thrown in. Nothing experimental, nothing cutting edge in terms of food compositions, but a solid, contemporary offering. We were a table of three and chose to order the tasting menu, even if one of us did not eat beef (for logistical reasons, you have to order the tasting menu for the entire table or not at all). No problem at all, the kitchen provided fish replacements for our friend. The dishes were all well executed and very nicely presented, with local beef of course the highlight.
A special mention deserves the world class service. Both our waiter (he has won several prizes for his quality work in Zimbabwe) and the sommelier were working to the highest standard, very knowledgeable and good fun.
This is by far the best restaurant in Victoria Falls and one of the best in Zimbabwe and offers excellent value (around 40 USD for the tasting menu if I remember well). It imposes a smart casual dress code without snobism.

The colonial atmosphere. The settings with the bridge on the background. The food and the people friendlyness.

We stayed at this hotel and were looking for a better experience for dinner than at The Boma the night before. We did not have dressy clothes with us, but that was not an issue. Men need collared shirt. Jeans were ok. Service was perfect and the meu and food was really good. Nice experience overall.

We loved the service at this restaurant. Our food was expertly prepared and presented. The place was not busy at all and we really enjoyed the live piano music during dinner. Highly recommended for a nice dinner out.
