We paid for a 10 am Spectacular flight - $250 USD per person for 25 minutes of flight. What should have been an outstanding experience even noting the cost was barely passable due to our seat allocation. We had rear facing seats with a very small window on each side - barely 1 ft wide. One of our travel partners was even worse off - she faced forwards but was in the middle so had a very limited view and then only when the window-seated person wasn't leaning forward to take photo's.
The flight path itself makes great use of the flexibility of a helicopter. The falls were seen from all directions and when we flew over the national park the pilot spotted several different groups of animals (hippo's, giraffes, buffalo's and elephants) and at each group flew several circles to ensure each side of the helicopter was exposed to the site.
We spoke to the desk staff afterwards to raise our seat allocation as an issue and were advised that 'that is just how the helicopter works'. We then paid the $15 USD to get the photo CD so that at least we will have some photo's of our experience because with hardly any window and rearward facing seats we didn't get the opportunity to take any decent ones ourselves.
