“Good escape from the hotel food circuit”

There was an exceptionally long wait but the food was decent and there was good entertainment while we waited. The onsite gift shop is a real bargain!

“Ok Food, too long wait”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2012

After a wonderful day touring Victoria Falls and sailing down the Zambezi River we decided on the Mama Africa Eating House for dinner-I read reviews on here and wanted to give it a try. They were able to quickly seat all 7 of us immediately (got a table outside) but took a long time to actually set up the table and fetch drinks, much less appetizers. We really had a lesson in patience this whole trip. They did have entertainment, men’s group singing (great singers by the way-one of our group mates purchased their CD) and dancing that got the diners involved. I was dragged on stage to dance-embarrassingly fun. Dinner was okay we spent almost 3 hours only half hour of it eating. The food was okay, loved my stew and another person loved the curry chicken. Others weren’t pleased that their food was a tad on the cold side. They have a gift shop on site, got a few things at affordable prices. While glad I was able to experience eating here, I’d probably not go back because of the overly long wait. When one waits that long the food should blow you away. This was not the case.

This is a true African experience. The food is great and we had a lovely time! Do go when in Vic Falls! The people are lovely and we all tasted eachothers food and everything was divine!

“Atmosphere @ a cost”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

Had dinner here, meals were nice but expensive, cost compared to an au meal. Dancers performed for a donation. Good service. Worth a try but just know the ost.

“A Taste of Africa”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

After viewing the magnificent Victoria Falls we just needed a light meal to stave off our pangs of hunger. We were dropped off by our guide at the Mama Africa Eating House which is a charming little slice of Africa which served very tasty toasted sandwiches. Most pleasant!!
