Stayed at Amanzi for 3 nights in April and had the most amazing experience. The rooms are wonderfully designed and maintained, the grounds are beautiful and the staff are exceptional. What was supposed to be the 'uneventful' part of our trip turned out to be a highlight and I only wish we had more time in Harare to extend our stay. We stayed in the Zanzibar room which I would definitely recommend, however next time we are definitely staying in the remodelled Honeymoon Suite. The little personal touches are what makes this place amazing and I honestly cannot recommend it enough.

We stayed 1 night – arriving at midnight and leaving the next morning at 10 AM. The place looked nice and we wished we had time to try out some of the facilities. We were given the Zanzibar Room which was nice. The room was large but a bit tired looking. The bathroom was also large but there were water leaks on the ceiling and mold on the ceiling above the toilet. The shower had hot water and good water pressure. Breakfast in the morning was good. The grounds were lovely as well. Overall the place was good although I don’t know whether it was worth the price.

Dear LLHGEG

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor regarding your recent stay at Amanzi Lodge.

We do appreciate all forms of feedback which allows us as a company and also, as part of the tourism sector within Zimbabwe to grow and develop. Amanzi Lodge is under a refurbishment plan this year, currently on going is the Nigeria Suite, upon completion we will be moving onto phase 2 which will be to fully refurbish the Zanzibar Room.
I do understand your comment with regards to price and cost, but unfortunately we are reliant on a large amount of imported products and also with high quality local commodities coming in at very high prices we do have to factor these into our rates, thus making us more expensive than other destinations.

I am glad to read you did enjoy your stay with us and hopefully on your next visit to Zimbabwe you will be able to spend more time at Amanzi Lodge, maybe even in the new Zanzibar Suite? I wish you well on your future travels.

Kind regards

I recently had an amazing stay at Amanzi Lodge. The property is beautiful and the staff are wonderful and accommodating. The lodge property is very much like that of a luxury resort with lush gardens and winding brick paths. There are places to sit and relax both inside and outside the main lodge area. Guests also have access to a swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, and spa.

The food is also wonderful (including the continental breakfast that's included). The wifi worked well around the property and they also have a computer that guests can use on site.

My stay at Amanzi was very relaxing and tranquil and I will definitely return should I have another chance to visit Harare.

The Lodge is truly a nice place go after a days' hard work. The tranquility of the environment and the engagement of the staff makes this a place where you feel at home. During our arrival we were welcomed by Nakai, she not only ensured that finding our rooms during a power outage went smooth but as well ensured we were at ease by having some drinks to talk about the local attractions for our weekend activity. She makes the guests feel that you have been old friends. The lodge itself is very modern and contain all the things you need for a good nights sleep, and everything is very clean. I will definitely return here if I need to be in Harare. In conclusion I do think that the staff at Amanzi lodge and the Amanzi restaurant as well are their greatest assets, since they can make a place and they definitely make this place good!

My wife and I stayed for two nights at Amanzi Lodge in Harare, when they re-opened after Christmas and before the New Year 2014. Although normally children under 12 are not permitted to stay, on this occasion they allowed our two children of four and six years to stay with us, and put a mattress on the floor in the living area to accommodate them.

The Kenya Suite which we occupied was well equipped with two colour televisons - one in the living area and one in the bedroom - with full satellite channel access, and video player. There was a stocked mini-bar and a safe for valuables, and the king-size double bed had a mosquito net covering it. The en-suite bathroom had both bath and separate shower. Daily room cleaning was thorough and unobtrusive, being done when the suite was unoccupied. All required service, room or otherwise, was prompt and carried out in a smiling and friendly manner.

The food in the restaurant, though lacking in the number of dishes available (although the menu, we were told is regularly changed), was excellent. And there was a wide selection of drinks available, too.

For the sporty type, a swimming pool and gym was available; and there was a beauty and massage spa on site too. Although my wife booked treatments, they did not happen as the masseuse/therapist's car broke down, and we had to leave before she could arrive.

A problem arose on check-out when our credit card could not be processed due to, we later discovered, a local credit limit being imposed without anyone admitting to or advising of it (until I challenged the local agents the next day). So, a word of warning, when in Zimbabwe ensure that you have adequate cash or the facility to draw adequate cash, as local limits are currently US $400 per day on any given card (Visa usually, as American Express is very rarely accepted {except at the biggest hotels such as Meikles and the Victoria Falls hotels}).

However, an acceptable solution was found to deal with the payment due, and I give much credit to Amanzi Lodge for the way that this matter was handled. It turned a very poor experience into an annoying but smaller frustration that then did not tarnish our experience of this excellent lodge.

When you are in Harare, you could do very much worse than spending some time at Amanzi Lodge; which time you will certainly enjoy.

Overall, the staff, the service, the food, and the accommodation were all first class. We highly recommend a stay here.

Dear AndrewBaker14.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor regarding your recent stay at Amanzi Lodge.

I am very happy to hear you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us and I hope Zimbabwe as a whole proved to be a good destination spot for you?
We work daily on ideas and ways we can maintain and improve our product and service, so your kind words are greatly appreciated, however you did mention the issues with regards to payments, and unfortunately as Zimbabwe is rated as a high risk country, we sometimes do encounter such obstacles.
In the last month we have invested a lot of time with our local bank here in Harare, and suffice to say, we have come up with a very good and stable solution to credit card payments which will definitely assist with payments in the future.

Mr AndrewBaker14, we look forward to welcoming you and your family back to Amanzi Lodge in the near future.

Kind regards,

The Amanzi lodge is a fabulous place to stay. The rooms and Suites are all interestingly appointed and themed around various African countries. We stayed in the Seychelles suite which had a delightful covered balcony overlooking the beutifully landscaped grounds. Swimming pool, tennis court, gym and spa are all available for R and R. The staff at the lodge are very welcoming, friendly and attentive, and the management of the lodge clearly have very high standards. Highly recommended.

Dear Nickynelly2013,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on Tripadvisor regarding your recent stay at Amanzi Lodge.
We continuously strive to create a sense of serenity and tranquillity at the lodge, so your kind words are greatly appreciated by all the team. I have to agree with you, Seychelles is a beautifully appointed suite and one of the most popular rooms here. As you have stated, all of our rooms are themed around different African countries, so on your next trip to Amanzi Lodge, why not try a touch of Kenya or a hint of Morocco.
