Absolutely wonderful. This is fantastic, close to the airport. Animals are well cared for, looked after. Cannot recommend it enough. Funds assist the running of the Trust. An attraction and education not to be missed

“A great animal experience at the sanctuary!”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

I found the sanctuary fascinating and exciting. It was a great experience to get so close to the animals, petting cheetahs, holding a Pangolin, feeding a pet kudu, as well as talking to the owner, Roxy Danckwerts. She is definitely doing an important service by rescuing and helping the animals. Hats off to Roxy.

“Wild IS Life, FOR SURE”
Reviewed May 31, 2012

If you want to end your time in Harare on a very positive note, a real HIGH, be sure and visit this sanctuary. It is a phenomenal experience. We spent over five hours talking to Roxy and Craig and playing with the animals, learning about their life, how they came to be here, and what is happening with them now. From cheetah, lion, kudu, giraffe, sable, zebra, to of course the PANGOLIN which is bred here. I'd never seen one and it was great holding one - with it's tongue out - and learning more about it. AWESOME, FANTASTIC, PHENOMENAL. Leave a donation even though they don't ask for one. They need it to help do the fantastic, caring job they do.

“Wild!”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

Our visit to Wild is Life with our son Noah, was a most amazing experience. Thank you to Roxy and her incredible team for sharing the beautiful protected space she has created and the wonderful animals within.
I got the fright of my life with the lion feeding - I think my hair actually blew back with the force of that roar and despite being perfectly safe, I was as close to a VERY frightening safari experience as one could wish, despite being in the completely safe and very colonial experience. Complete with afternoon tea on the verandah overlooking giraffe, Egyptian geese pairs, and wandering kudi, we were fortunate enough to meet vervet monkeys, blessbock, the teeniest squirrel and a lovely gentle-eyed kudu who would have shared all of our cakes if we had let her.
Our son (2 years old) ran around the expansive lawn with pure delight, after feeding the blessbock, vervet monkey (and if you count the kudu).

We took a stroll through what could only feel like the African Savannah and were fortunate to meet a Pangolin (and hold its very large toe-nail feeling body), zebra and a beautiful, shy sable. Noah was able to meet up close and personal, his first chongololo which he was most intrigued by.
Drinks in a beautiful rain shower under the verandah, with delicious canapes and such lovely company, we vowed to return again very soon to share this experience again.

“Pangolin, the animal version of an artichoke!”
Reviewed April 27, 2012

I had a most wonderful and memorable visit to the game reserve called Wild is Life. This sanctuary is run by a very charming lady Roxy Danckwerts. She has an amazing knowledge of the various species of wild life of Zimbabwe along with the history of her country.
From the high tea and cakes to the champagne and strawberries, I felt like I was at the home of a long lost friend. I hope to visit again in July 2012...It was not only the beautiful animals, it was the hospitality, the stories, the warmth of the environment....not to be missed on a visit to Harare
