Description: Situated in the heart of the Northern Suburbs of Harare, Amanzi Restaurant is set well back from the road in 4 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. An old farmhouse, architucturally converted to a stylish modern restaurant. Amanzi has the capacity to seat 100 people. Amanzi offers it customers "fusion" cuisine. The decor is a sophisticated blend of interior styles created to form a backdrop for unusual collections of African antiquities and contemporary art. The water feature is stocked with koi carp, and is floodlit at night. The property is noted for its collection of indigenous trees, predominately msasa, and colourful shrubs, which provide a cool, restful atmosphere.

What a fantastic setting! The food was plentiful and tasty, nice glass of merlot sold by the glass and delicious chocolate torte, friendly and efficient staff. Would certainly go back there, but would advise booking ahead as it was busy on a Friday evening.

Amanzi must be visited at least twice by any diner. Once during the day to see the gorgeous gardens, and again at night to savour its evening ambience.

Despite being situated on a busy arterial road, clever use of "white noise" in the form of a garden water feature masks road noise to the point that you are not disturbed by it.

The menu is interesting, and flavours abound.

Amanzi is fairly close to where we live, so we actually pop in quite often. Great food, and fantastic service available from tasty light bites to gourmet blow-outs.

However, I'm writing about my youngest daughter's wedding, which we held at Amanzi just before Christmas last year. From the moment we looked at the place as a wedding venue, we knew it would work for us. About 80 people, great food, semi-formal, etc etc. All the boxes were ticked. The staff went way beyond the norm to make this a great day, and absolutely everyone enjoyed it. The service was held in the garden, followed by the reception, and all just kept clicking into place.

We have yet to have an unpleasant moment on any visit, and are continually surprised on every occasion.

Great diverse menu including sushi, African dishes and everything else. Try out the Eton Mess for dessert - it's such a treat!

Lovely garden with a spectacular water feature
