Hotel Le Pacha
Ranked #35 of 55 Hotels in Tunis

This is not a three star hotel with a clientèle and location to match.
This is a smoker-friendly hotel, if you like that sort of thing in the restaurant and the elevators. Management almost hostile if you insist on getting what you paid for.
Big buffet dinner and breakfast, but nothing flash.
Way too expensive at advertised rates

Room Tip: Find one of the private hotels in the Medina.

Given how expensive hotels are in Tunis, spend $20 more and get a descent hotel with clean rooms, non-mildew bathrooms, better breakfast, more helpful staff, and an overall better location to the Medina and local train to Carthage. 3 Star per Tunisia but closer to 1-2 star hotel by American standards.

Room Tip: Try the Hotel Carlton; solid 3 star hotel with friendly staff.

Hotel Le Pacha has some good things going for it and some very bad. Our experience of visiting Tunis could have been so much better if the hotel had some major improvements.
1. Train ALL the staff to be polite, cheerful and helpful.
Some were very pleasant- reception staff seem generally helpful, porters also helpful and friendly. However there is a lack of manners in some bar/ breakfast staff. They are really rude.
2. Don't put people who want to sleep near the disco at the top of the building - the noise is terrible and goes on till well after midnight and in the early hours of the morning furniture is dragged around the floor and this can be devastating for the guests on the floor below.
3. Wifi is advertised as available - no evidence of this could be found.
On the plus side- there is a good breakfast buffet.
A pity the evening staff on the bar in the hotel buffet room are so grumpy.

Room Tip: insist on a room on the lower floors or you will not sleep at all with the noise from the disco.

hotel worth max $ 30 a night 1 elevator function sometimes open half way in 3rd and 5th floor, double room you have only 1 set of towel for 2 and 3 guests if you go to restaurant to ask the server for a plate like you ask him for 1 pound of gold no secure parking , you can stay at this hotel only if you have no choice and this hotel not suppose to be in the stars categories

Room Tip: you can stay at this hotel only if you have no choice

Hotel not too far from the airport about 15 mins. From the city centre a 20 minute walk , taxi a couple of dinars negotiate the price before you get in , you might find it difficult to get a taxi for the return journey. Reception staff OK , no lifts working had to walk up 3 flights of stairs no assistance offered. Room & bathroom both clean & tidy. Plenty of hot water. Sound of traffic noisy but this is Tunis. If you want a decent breakfast get up early , even then you have to hunt for cutlery , bread roll & croissants delicious as you get through out Tunisia. Be careful about eating the eggs they stand for hours next to an open window , stick to the hard boiled eggs on offer. I did not eat during the evening. The hotel is used by patients from nearby countries getting medical treatment at nearby hospitals .

Stayed here for two nights whilst needing to sort paperwork in Tunis
Bellboy came to greet us from taxi took our bags and stayed with us taking bags to our room and he was very pleasant, reception hardly spoke to us just took the voucher and handed us a key.
Room was extremely basic with poor view although clean, fresh sheets and towels next day maid lovely.
Television no English Channel at all
Food...dire!!!! Hardly any choice and what there was was awful. Things are not replaced and are cold. Breakfast passable if get there early enough but dinner was just plain horrible. Had to ask for our own drinks from the hatch waiters more interested in watching tv
All in all a very basic hotel that is dated and in need of a good revamp of staff and food wouldn't stay again

Stayed here for a week, the food was terrible, the staff were very rude, arrogant to customers and lack training. Each time I went to eat in the restaurant I was asked for my room number which is normal but Arabs were not asked for room numbers! I assume any non-resident Arab could just walk in, eat the food and walk out. 15 min walking distance to city centre, taxi to city centre costs 2-3 TND, £1. The hotel is very old and require substantial upgrade! I would avoid this hotel!
