Much smaller than what I expected. However, the mosaics where incredible. Such lifelike representations, the eyes of some of the faces where incredible.

If you have been to El Jem museum then this is part 2 of the amazing moasics Tunisisa have for you. Once again you are walking on them as well as staring up at them in amazement.

There are a few other bits to see including Christian, Islamic, Punic and Greek but most of the museum is made up of moasics. The leaflet for the museum is a bit confusing but there are signs guiding you back to the lobby of the museum.

The best thing to do is just wander. There are rooms and stairs all over.

So many ancient mosaics in one place. There are several rooms of well preserved Roman era mosaics here. It's easy to get around and plenty to see.

A fantastic historical collections but unfortunately the Islamic section was not ready yet. Need to have time to see the exhibits in this museum. For non- speaking French and Arabic, it's difficult to understand. Please include English.

no matter where you choose to stay during your visit to Tunisia- a trip to Carthage, Tunis city and the Bardo museum is highly recommended.

Recently re-opened after an extensive rewamp the museum now have some brilliant halls to exhibit their stuff. Especially the Roman mosaics are fantastic. As the museum is set in the former Royal Palace you might want to look up and gaze at the jaw-dropping-beautiful ceilings.
Unfortunately the museumshop is rather dull and uninviting- would have loved to buy a nice poster or something- but maybe that will improve.
