“Good hotel, Bad location”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Although convenient to the airport, this hotel is not convenient to anything else. The nearest place to eat (outside the hotel) is a 15 minute walk away. The medina and other tourist attractions are taxi rides away, and traffic can be bad, particularly downtown on a Saturday. The hotel itself is trypical Sheraton, no better and no worse than other Sheratons, but better than other hotels in which I have stayed in Tunisia. The fitness center, including swimmig pool, is top notch

I was satisfied with the recent stay at the Sheraton Tunis hotel. I was reluctant with all the posts about not being a "typical Sheraton". However, I felt this hotel was very appropriate and reflected well the local culture. Perhaps the other posts do not appreciate the integration of the local culture. T

he The staff was superb and very well trained for customer service. The other guests were as professional as I've ever seen. I travel world-wide and would solidly recommend this hotel.

This Sheraton is one of the less fancy. At breakfast I had to ask for a fork three times, the wifi access is as complicated as it would have been in the Soviet Union, and the location is quite far away from the Medina and the centre of Tunis (where I'm going to stay the next time). Having said this, rooms are spacious, well maintained and clean. And it's near the airport. That's it.

I'm also happy to read that you find our rooms spacious and clean and our location near the airport comfortable.

This was my fourth stay at this hotel and despite being one of the best hotels in Tunis it shows some signs of age. Rooms are clean and spacious but needing some kind of renovation. Breakfast is good but the buffet restaurant is somehow limited in choice of food.
Staff is friendly and they try to satisfy your needs. I had a problem with the sink of my bathroom and because I was late, I didn’t complaint at the front desk. When I returned to the hotel that evening the problem was solved. This is what I expect from a Sheraton level, an obvious problem was fixed without having to complain about it.
The hotel is located near the airport and is ideal if you need to drive outside Tunis, usually I have to drive to Monastir and it is very easy to go from the Sheraton. If you don’t have a car and you want to go to the old town (medina) it is a short taxi ride from the hotel, around 5 dinars (2,50€).

I have just returned from a short stay at the Sheraton Tunis and must say that the hotel was fantastic and the staff very friendly.
The hotel is located in a very secure and safe area at only 10 minutes away from the airport. The meeting rooms were very well equipped and clean. In addition, we had a lovely room at the tower floor overlooking the city. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious.
The only negative thing is that the lobby bar gets busy and too noisy evenings and people smoke everywhere. But apart from that, everything was just perfect.

The first thing you need to do before you arrive is to adjust your expectations. While this is probably one of the best hotels in Tunis, it is in no way comparable with what you would expect from a Sheraton hotel.

Rooms are clean but a bit worn. Staff is very friendly and walks the extra mile.
Prices in the shops and restaurants are very expensive and would be ok if what you get is on global Sheraton standards but it's not.

Wifi in the room is 12 euro per day for a low quality internet connection (frequent disconnects, log-in pages, registration, ...). Having to pay for internet in a hotel room is not of this time anymore and certainly not for this price.

Good points:
+ Friendly staff
+ Good buffet in restaurant
+ Clean rooms
+ Relaxed atmosphere

Points for improvement:
- Wifi in rooms should be free
- Real smoke free zones in restaurants and bar (not only a sign for the show)
- Match the quality with the price asked for it

It is very difficult to believe that this hotel was sheraton, the furniture was old, the staff was not very welcoming, the food was awful, there was a bar which was full of only men , all of them were smoking in the bar, smoking is not prohibited and you can easliy see a cloud of smoke in the bar, tunisia is poor of hotels and i think this was one of the best hotels in tunisia but in any way i do ot recommend it

Room Tip: Do not go to tunisia if you are not supposed to
