“Wonderful experience, very tasty date syrup and jam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

at first sight it may look like as an usual and boring museum, but once in, you discover a charming visit.
The tour starts with a tour is a huge palm garden and is guided by a sympathic girl that explain to you all that you have to know about palm culture and date products, and it is very interesting especially for the way that palm wood is transformed to make pieces of furniture and decorative stuff.
the tour ends with a visit of a production unit of date syrup, made up in a biological agriculture. The syrup is used to make a lot of tasty products as "date honey", "date butter", "date jam with cinammon" .. We bought a plenty of even if quite expensive, and it is absolutely unique !!!!

you spend there 1 hour in total, entrance fee is very cheap (4 euros a person), and it is may be the most valuable adress in Tozeur.

“Excellent local specialist museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2013

Although it's a specialist museum about the date palm it is very informative with displays in a number of languages, or there are guides to show you around. It is a wonder to find out just what the world (or this part of it anyway) owes to the date palm. There is a small cafe with some very good snacks, and clean toilets too. Some of the display is outdoors.

“Great visit to learn and try !!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

On our 12-day trip in Tunisia, our agency, TWS, brought us to this ecomuseum in the middle of the beautiful Tozeur palmeraie. They first bring us in carriage on a peacefull ride to the Eden Palm Museum.

Once there, you have the visit of the permanent exposition explaining the date palm in history of the country, but also the cultural side of the emblematic date palm (French, English and Arabic). Then, you have the palmeraie visit outside, which is a beautiful site.

At the end, we had a taste of the products they make with the date palm (sirup, jam, etc.). You can also buy their products. I found them a little expensive but I must say they are unique product in this country. I would like to see discounts when you buy more than one product, so they would sell more of them.

You finish your visit on the rooftop terrace with a nice view of the palmeraie. This visit is a nice cultural event while you are in Tunisia.
