We have just returned from a week on safari and then 5 nights at Zanzibar (definitely the right order to do it in), and it was amazing. Emanuel from Leopard Tours picked us up in Arusha and took us to the Ngorongoro Crater, and then on to The Serengeti, and it was the most amazing 5 days. Not only is Emanuel very knowledgeable about safari and life in Tanzania, his own personal life story is unforgettable - we truly felt like we had become friends by the end of it - which made the experience even more special. His enthusiasm for life in infectious and made an already memorable holiday even more so. We also really liked the safety and customer care that Leopard Tours provide - we felt like we were in great hands, not just with Emanuel but with the company more broadly. He was also a very safe driver, and given how much time you spend on the road, this is a very good thing! Thank you Emanuel and the team at Leopard Tours.

After climbing Kilimanjaro. We had 5 days / 4 nights tented camps safari to Tarangire National Park, Manyara National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater with the same company we trek with, Chumia African Travel. We were very confident with the company and our guide Yusuph. We knew we were in a good hand of the best guide when all the other guides kept asking our guide where the animals are. We were able to see all the big African five including rhino who most of our fellow tourist didn’t see. Our guide Yusuph was outstanding in his driving skill and knowledge.
His English is perfect and I had no trouble understanding his very interesting commentary.
Our Chef was also “the best chef ever”. Such delicious wholesome meals and every time we felt hungry he was there with mouth watering goodness. We will miss this team a lot. it was a great team.
We were recommended to use a company so we got time to prepare some staffs to offer to local orphanage which ended up being quite an adventure and fun, spending time with those kids. They are awesome.

This was our third safari and fourth spot in Tanzania and it absolutely blew away everywhere else we had been. Before we got here I was worried that with such a massive area, so many visitors and having to stay on the roads that we wouldn't actually see much and that what we did see would be very far away. I was completely wrong.

We saw all of the big five and pretty much every other animal Tanzania has. With the exception of the black rhinos, they were all very close to the roads. In fact, we had more than one lion and cheetah walk right next to our vehicle as well as zebras, antelope, gazelles and birds. We spent a little under 2 days total in the park and some of the best things we saw were a lion and a cheetah with kills, lions in trees, leopards in trees, and a pair of black rhinos. We were also lucky enough to catch the wildebeest migration, millions of them for as far as you could see. They weren't stampeding but it was still pretty cool.

It can get very crowded around the more spectacular sights and you do need a guide who can get your vehicle into a good viewing spot. It didn't seem as if many groups were willing to move on so someone else could move in. The roads can also be pretty rough and you can plan on inhaling a good deal of road dust if the roof is up and your windows are open.

If I could only go back to one place in Tanzania, it would absolutely be the Serengeti.
