When going to the Serengeti, do make sure that you have checked that you are not going in the rainy wet season. My husband and I went for Safari in the Serengeti from 2 June to 4 June. This was a reasonably good time to go as the rainy season had ended. However, the grass was still long right after rainy season and I think the game viewing experience could have been better if we had scheduled our safari for late June. Our guide was great so we were still able to see the big five and all the main animals apart from the cheetah. Do pay careful attention to the tour company you chose and the vehicles that they have. Our tour company's vehicle was in need of maintenance as it rattled somewhat and the air conditioning did not work. Serengeti has areas with tsetse flies. These flies are vile blood sucking insects who can bite through clothes. Get a fully functioning air conditioned car so that you are able to drive through such areas with the windows closed. Also, wearing light colours as these flies are attracted to dark colours.
Serengeti national park is beautiful and is vast. There is a lot more to cover than in the Masai mara national park. Having been to both, I think my game viewing experience was better in the Masai mara. This may be because of the time of year that I went and also because of the annoying tsetse flies. The landscape between the two is similar. The edge that Tanzanian safari has over the Kenyan one is the ngorongoro crater which was breathtaking.

Serengeti national park is the best national park in Tanzania, its easy to see all the cat family and the only place that you can see migration of wildebeest in Tanzania, i have been in Serengeti park for 11 years now. its amazing place.

The seasonal migration is a once in a lifetime experience. While the focus is on the over 1 million wildebeest, the accompanying zebra and gazelle that gather with lions and alligators awaiting a feast is a site to behold. Couple these with hippos, giraffes and birdlife, it is a multi day challenge to get around this park to take in all it has to offer. Can honestly say our game viewing was never dull.

First, we arrived in Tanzania without stress as we had a lot of email exchange with the company. Elizabeth Sales and Guest Relationship Manager working so professional each time I had a question, the answer came within hour.
At the airport, our guide Moses was waiting for us. We were 4 friends and we had a single bus for us. Moses is a very skilled driver. We always felt very safe. The man has lot of explanations to give about the country, about the animals, about nature. He is also able to understand when you don't want to speak or when you want to rest. We booked 5 days Safari with them, we visited the famous Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Park, During this trip I felt as a real good. No hurry and the bush was truly ours. The accommodations were selected with care and our guide was very patient and cared about our wishes. Even vegetarians, as I am, can eat in such a luxurious way, delicious!
Being one with nature is a gift and traveling with Tanzania Horizon Safaris a welcome extra present

This was another great experience we had. our 3 days safari went well due to our guide who was professional and knowledgable on safari. The man took us in a moderate speed up to the parks were we went Tarangire and serengeti. we saw a lot of animals in a parks like lion, elephant, zebra, rhino and others animals.. the roads were just fine for us to reach there while not much tired.
All in all the special thanks should go to Halisi Adventures for their kindness and love shown to us. highly recommend them to anyone who wish to visit Tanzania.
