This was such an amazing experience for my group. The staff and accommodations are perfect for a 5 star safari adding the tent experience. The location is so convenient for your day trips. Always a hot shower waiting for you when you got back off the dusty trail. Great sundowners, giving you the opportunity to share safari stories and enjoy a cocktail overlooking the lake with a lovely campfire going! Loved the closeness to the animals in their own environment. Total thumbs up!
This camp is a must visit if you can afford to. My family and I stayed here for two magical nights we will never forget.
When we were traveling around 8p.m. or so at night trying to find the camp with extremely muddy and wet conditions I was quite honestly a bit freaked out. As a New Yorker I had never in my life experienced such challenging driving conditions. However, our incredible Kibo guide Joseph Darema deeply impressed us with his top notch driving skills and a bond was made forever! Our vehicle was a pimped out Toyota Landcruiser from Kibo Guides and was simply the best with two gas tanks and a custom-built frame. We only had five super roomy seats for four people. Amazing! You wished you could take it home with you and conquer anything.
Once we arrived finally at Ndutu Under Canvas it was like a true oasis. We had been game driving for over 8 hours and then reached this beautiful tented camp at night with 7 staff members to help us with everything and anything. I will never forget the sight as long as I live. I instantly felt calm and realized that the everything was going to be ok.
Our rooms were beautifully decorated and appointed and all of the extra water bottles in the room were greatly appreciated.
The next two days were pure luxury. We felt like we were the only guests in the camp. The food was exquisite and exceptional. The communal dining and lounge tents felt very warm, cozy and inviting. Ask the cook to make you a fresh delicious pancake. So yummy we all kept going back for more. And the fruit was the best that we had tasted in all of our time in Tanzania.
The extra attention you get plus the extra amenities make this place worth the extra price of lets say Kati Kati which we also stayed in.
The staff was so great we asked to get our pictures taken with them so that we could always remember them. Wow! I left this camp on cloud nine!
We stayed one night during our visit of the Serengeti NP. The camp is located in the southern parts of the NP. Location is great with abundance of wildlife around, view over lake Ndutu and a real "safari feeling" all over.
Staff is nice and attentive, making you feel welcome.
Tents are spacious and comfortable with all facilities including private bathroom and hot shower. Sleep comfort is great (provided the animals don't keep you awake ;)
Food was great, breakfast as well as dinner. One aspect we liked is that you could enjoy your meals together with your driver/guide which is nice.
Thank you so much for taking the time to comment on your stay at Ndutu Under Canvas.
We are glad that you enjoyed your time and experience and hope you will visit again.
My husband and I spent 3 nights in this wonderful tented camp from Jan 25 - 28. The staff Rama, Sifas, Cook and all the others were attentive and charming. Our tent was comfortable and large. To be so remote yet have a flush toilet and hot showers (water brought by staff upon request) was remarkable. The food was terrific, we loved having snacks by the bush TV (campfire overlooking lake Ndutu) each evening. It was especially wonderful that cook made my husband a cake for his birthday. They sang and danced around the table wishing him a happy birthday. This camp is ideally located for game spotting. We had 4 lions that were staying quite near the camp - we would see them by day and hear them by night. We felt very pampered and would highly recommend this place to others.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We are very happy to know that you had such a wonderful experience, seeing and hearing the wildlife and celebrating the birthday. We hope you will visit again in the future.
We loved our three nights at Ndutu Under Canvas. When we arrived my husband was ill and they couldn't have been more solicitous, checking in with him and offering him their special remedy, a mixture of coke and seltzer. The camp has a spectacular location --beautiful views and good access to the migration that comes through the area. We were treated to the zebra and wildebeest migration, and saw many other birds and animals as well, including giraffes, cheetahs, lions, leopards and gazelles. The tents all have flush toilets and they bring 5 gallons of hot water when you want a shower, plenty of water for a pretty leisurely shower. The food was excellent. All in all a wonderful stay.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. We are so glad that you felt comfortable and cared for during your time at Ndutu Under Canvas. We hope that you have many fond memories of your experiences and welcome again!
