Now that the camp is a permanent site the standard of accomodation and service is quite outstanding. You live in luxury in a location virtually totally isolated from other lodges.
Nothing can compare with your first excursion onto the Serengeti plains with wonderful views over to the Masai Mara. We saw the wildebeest migration and it was truly spectacular. We only saw one river crossing but were not seeking to see a carnage of animals by lions and crocs. We found that if you take the time to let things happen you are always pleasantly surprised with the activity on the planes. For example we saw a baby hippo with its mum just after its birth.
We stayed 4 nights and felt this was about right.
A special mention for the food and also the staff and the management more generally. It was amazing what was presented to us at mealtimes and the general style of the place was really relaxing.
We hope to return one day.

I wrote about our fantastic trip in TZ related to Green Footprint Adventures (Planet Africa Safaris now) and I promised some pictures of Sayari and Suyan camp, where we spent 2-2 nights. We had so nice staying and such a great holiday, that we decided to go with them again this winter, but perhaps somewhere else, to explore more... Going back to Suyan and Sayari camps, we had a real Africa feeling, but with luxurious circomstances. Huge tents with separated toilet/bathroom, flushing toilet in the middle of savanna(!)-in a very creative way, full service, very good chef. We even had a night-drive, which was absolutely exciting! We were in the middle of the nowhere only with few others, but it was of course safe, and we had quite some guards during the night, so don't be affraid of wild life! Highly recommended.

It was our Honey Moon and being in Sayari made it beautifull!!! Starting from the tents with an amazing views to the African Savana with impalas passing by while watching the sunrise, following with the people there, the managers ( very nice and attent people, our guide Frank an extremly intelligent, good person, and above this, the best guide)
Food was also very nice, with a good selection of South Arican wines.
Ambiance: What can you say when you are located in the middle of nowere in Tanzania? Perfect
What can you say when they make sure you can see the big 5? Perfect.
Everything was just Perfect!!.
I take this occasion to thanks again the all team!!
If you are looking to do a complete Safary in Tanznia I would not miss Sayari Camp!!

The recently moved/rebuilt Sayari Camp gets all the big things spot on. The food was good, the tents are top-notch (with plenty of hot water now), the guides (Albert in particular) are spectacular, and the location is probably the best there is. Now the little things that have room for improvement: private safaris (esp for a honeymooning couple) should be a must; there is no safe in the room; they're supposed to offer some spa treatments but evidently don't (yet, maybe); we had a wake-up call that was 15 minutes late (we only gave ourselves 25 minutes to get ready in the first place). They also didn't do anything special for our honeymoon (all other places we stayed at had a surprise in some way shape or form). But otherwise, Barbs and Joe are very nice and will take good care of your needs I'm sure. If I could give them a 4.5 stars I would, but I'll round up in this case. (Hopefully the family of cheetahs will still be there for you!)

My wife, 19 year old daughter and I arrived at Sayari for 3 nights/4 days after spending a few days at the Serena Lodge in Ngorongoro and at Mbuzi Mawe in the central Serengeti. We thought that being as isolated as we were in the northern Serengeti it would be difficult to improve on our previous stays at the Serena Lodge and at Mbuzi Mawe; we were wrong - very wrong. The Sayari Camp, its location, its exclusiveness, the luxury of the accommodation and quality of all the staff from housekeeping to catering to guides, was, in a word, superb. My family unanimously agreed that Sayari was the "jewel in the crown" of our safari.

Our stay at Sayari was magical. The camp was extremely well laid out and very, very comfortable. To be honest, it was luxurious. Joe and Barbara, the South African couple who ran the place were terrific as was our guide, Titus. The game drives were superb. We had at least one exceptionally memorable moment every day we were out on a game drive. It was as perfect as one can get in an imperfect world – simply being on that part of the Serengeti plain and seeing and experiencing the interaction of all the various animals in their natural surroundings was extraordinary, an experience bordering on the spiritual, never to be forgotten. Traveling companions described it as Shangri-La and we would agree. We will go back, God willing.

There isn't anything I can fault Sayari for. We enjoyed the wholesome meals, the wines, the comfort and luxury, the unspoiled setting of the camp with a cleverly laid out swimming pool, and the knowledge and insights of the staff who were willing and pleased to share their experiences. We simply loved it.

We would be remiss in not mentioning the excellent work of our travel company, Gane and Marshall, particularly Clare. Clare meticulously and efficiently organised all our travel details, the pickup at Kilimanjaro airport, all our hotels, the internal flights, safaris, our beach holiday on Zanzibar and finally transport to the Dar es Salaam airport for our return home. Everything worked like a fine Swiss watch. Throughout our holiday, Gane and Marshall remained interested (in a non-obtrusive way), in ensuring that all arrangements went well. I would strongly recommend them to anyone wanting a magical, worry free and memorable vacation in Tanzania.

Sayari is right out of the way and is a magnificent camp for seeing the migration across the Mara river - the guides made damn sure that you got to see what you went there for, and had a zero-tolerance to people leaving ithout seeing the wildebeest crossing the river, as well they should, since it was amazing. The camp itself has absolutely impeccable service that I don't think I've ever had anywhere else, and the food is out of this world. One particular evening that springs to mind was a swahili food evening with tables separated out individually in the bush - you could barely see two feet ahead, the table lit by a couple of candles, the drinks served by firebrand, the animals roaring in the not -too-distant darkness: it was probably the most exciting and unusual meal I've ever had. However, details like poor light in the room, barely any water hot or otherwise for washing and sanitation, etc. let the camp down a lot, because they're very noticable basics and really got in the way, but that said we went last August and they may have sorted it by now. We left this place reluctantly and have very fond memories of it.

We visited the Sayari camp over Christmas 2008. Having game viewing experience in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia, we can say the viewing in the Northern Serengeti is the best we have ever seen (contrary to some guides, which claim you should be in the southern Serengeti during December-March).

The camp was situated at about 300m from the Mara river, providing for alot of game activity around it. We saw a group of 21 lions, a warthog kill, a topi kill by a group of lions. All other more common species where abundantly present and with the vast plains near the Kenyan border, the viewing is very easy.

Staff at the Sayari camp where tremendous (Joe and Barbara thanks!) -very hospitable, intimate atmosphere (with only 7 tents) and the food was western cuisine style.
The roaring of the lions at night made it unforgettable.

All-in-all a very recommendable experience!
