“Excellent stay and wonderful and kind staff!”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

My husband and I recently stayed at the Serengeti Serena lodge and we loved every bit of our short stay. On our next visit we will have to make sure to stay longer! Our special thanks to Mr. Felix Ogembo, Lodge Manager, who very kindly upgraded us to a lovely two room/two bath suite as a special thanks for bringing a large group of friends and family members with us. I was able to enjoy the pool for a short while and the views from both our room and the pool were just stunning. The food was excellent and with a large variety, including for vegetarians like myself. My special thanks for their kindness to Felix, Julius, Everest, Shafu, and any of the other staff members I may be forgetting. I hope to visit you soon again!

Enjoyed our stay at the Serengeti Serena Lodge. Comfortable rooms, lovely surroundings, nice terrace to view the plains and sunrise and sunset. Restaurant was very good too, lots and lots of food, too many choices, hope they do not waste the food. The entertainment every night was not bad either.

- clean
- beautiful view from room porch with amazing sunset
- excellent bathrooms
- great ambiance, attractive "huts"
- pool
- a real king size bed!
- great food
- connecting rooms which was nice for our group of 4

Of our 7 day safari and multiple lodges, this was our favorite BY FAR. Equivalent of a high end room in a hotel in the USA!

Checked in on the 15th Jan 2014. The Location is excellent. The Staff are proffessional, friendly and always alert to give best service to the Guests. I loved the spacious room which had a Kingsize bed with a lovely glass door that over looked the Serengeti Land scape. Food is served in varieties from breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the evening time I enjoyed the sundowner drink as I watched the sunset from a very lovely view point. Sad didn't have the binoculars but could see animals from a distance. The night is so much alive with the traditional dancers who sing and dance to african songs and instruments. The Guitarist also does wonders as he sings and plays Guitar. Its a memorable experience. Security personnel are always available to escort you to and from the Restaurant at night just to ensure your safety. Not only do u have to go for road safari but you can make arrangements for Balloon Safari at the Balloon info desk. Its a Lodge I would always love to stay....always!!! Keep up !

Room Tip: Slept in Room 66...lovely view.

High on a hill overlooking the plains of the Serengeti...need I say more? Individual hut style accommodations with two rooms in each..one upstairs and one down. Wonderful balcony for sitting and reflecting and watching some animals that come close below. All of the amenities of home. When walking to the lodge after dark it is require to call for an escort to walk with you to fend off any animals that might come by.

Food and service is good and overall a much appreciated rest while on safari.

What I loved most about this hotel was the viewing area behind the pool that literally thrones over the Serengeti planes. With a telescope you could see all sorts of game. But it was the beauty and grandeur and space and sky that just overwhelmed. The pool was a bit small and cold so we did not really partake in the swimming. The room was amply large and clean. Staff was very friendly. We were celebrating a birthday and they went out of their way to make a birthday cake and sing happy birthday in Swahili - pretty much the whole kitchen staff came out which was nice. There was also lots of entertainment in the evening with song and dance. Overall this was one of my favourite lodges during our Tanzania safari. Not luxury, but somehow much more in tune with Africa and the surrounding area. One feels like being smack in the middle of the African savannah, a bit of an Out of Africa experience.

On our first visit to tanzania our safari started with Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge...we were on a Serena lodges safari. :-) this place is awesome for their property and location. Right in the serengeti...you will love this place at first sight....Also the lodges staff are great...we were stranded on our way to this lodge and the lodge sent their vehicle to pick us up after our safari jeep broke down in serengeti and we were stuck there for 4 hours...thanks to Felix (i hope i got the managers name right) he was very helpful. He organized everything and also saw to that we had our dinner even thou we landed at the lodge very very late past midnight...he had ordered the staff to keep food ready by the time we arrived or we were rescued...its was a memorable experience . thank you very much. we went there on 15th october stayed for 3 days..

Room Tip: always ask for the cottages closer to the dinning so that you don't have to walk very far...esp...
