On Serengeti Pioneer Camp you travel on time. Suddenly you feel like an European explorer in the beginning of the 20th century. The decor of the tents are amazing, the view from the lounge outstanding, the food served on the camp out of this world, the games, one of the best you can see in Africa. And we had an amazing butler, Juma, to make everything even better. Mambo poa and Asante sana you all!

Karibu Sana! At Pioneer we want you to experience 1930's Serengeti. We have cheated and added a few comforts: a swimming pool, WiFi and some amazing food!
We are blessed to have this corner of the Serengeti. The views looking out towards the Moru Kopjes, Lake Magadi and the vast open plains make it extra special. I will pass on your kind words to Juma and the Pioneer Team.
Warm regards
Rodgers Daniel the General Manager

Spend two nights in the heartland of the Serengeti. A small tented camp hosted by the most amazingly caring staff who give great service, serve excellent food and the location is stunning. The accommodation is a fully serviced tent with its own bathroom and outside seating area.
Alan our guide was amazing taking us to places to ensure we saw all the animals we wanted to plus serving a great lunch.
Great place

To start with, the view was incredible, our "tent" was extremely comfortable, and the food was outstanding. Thank you Chef Joseph! That would have been enough to make us happy, but the staff and management of the Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp made our stay absolutely the BEST!
From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Justin and the others, we felt completely at home and comfortable. Justin was warm and friendly, and then we met JUMA!! Juma took care of us at all our meals and in between. We only stayed two nights but he went above and beyond. He made us feel like we were his special guests and ensured that we had whatever we needed. When our daughter wasn't feeling well, he brought her food and fluids to settle her stomach, and even sent her out on our safari drive with a special tin of food to help her feel better. Juma was so fun and had a great sense of humor!
Our nighttime escort, Eliya, was knowledgable and so friendly, and we had no need to worry about any animals getting near us! And to top it off, Justin and Rogers spent hours helping us download our photos onto a flash drive when we didn't have space left on our camera.
We can not say enough about our stay at Elena Serengeti Pioneer Camp. Thank you for giving us such happy memories!

We stayed at the Serengeti pioneer camp for 2 nights with family and had a fantastic stay. The property is at an absolutely breathtaking location with a vista of the Savannah from a perfect elevation. The lounge was a great place to relax and unwind over a drink and watch all the action.

Mr.Justin, the manager, and his team including Juma, Eliya, Mali Mali and everyone else made our stay extremely comfortable. Kudos to their warm hospitality and their undivided attention to ensure that our stay was nothing short of the best! The chef Mr.Joseph went out of his way to prepare our special vegetarian menu. His Indian menu was authentic and everything tasted absolutely divine! It was home away from home for us.

The added bonus was the leopard sighting in the premises. Yes! Look out for the pride of lions, elephants and the leopard that live close by! Do not miss this place if you are visiting the central Serengeti region!

The 2 night stay we had in Elawara Serengeti Pioneer Camp stands out as the best out of the 8 days we had in Tanzania.

The strategic location of the camp is a straight winner with a steep rocky slope to one side and a view of the rolling plains on the other. The lobby awes you with an unhindered view of the vast wilderness and the staff woo you with their warmth and attention to detail.

The tents are comfortable, clean and are aligned with the theme of 'responsible tourism', with solar power and a policy of 'no plastic'. There are added attractions like breakfast at sunrise and watching the sunset.

If you are looking for a relaxing evening with a window into the plains, this is the place you should go to. The presence of leopards, lions and elephants in the vicinity is a plus and brings the view to your backyard, literally. You can even hear the grunts from the wildebeest migration as you sit in the lounge at sunset.

We are a vegetarian family of four from India (with 2 children aged 11 and 8) and the effort that went into preparing our meals simply blew us away. Thank you Chef Joseph.

Mr. Justin, the manager ably assisted by his competent, cheerful team elevated the experience to a different level.

I would highly recommend this place as family friendly and vegetarian friendly.
