The camp is so well tucked in wilderness that you really don't see the tents until you actually reach.
Each tented has a unique theme, picked out of the Masai culture, and there is the friendly Masai with his patient explanations.Impeccably clean and with all modern amenities the tents are all the luxury and comfort one could ask for.
The vast vistas that that unroll before you as you relax watching over the transitional hues of the sunset and the oil lanterns begin to gleam- you realize you are making memories for future .......
Away from the crowds milling about in Jeeps with Pop up roofs, this place renders a feel of real jungle,Zebras , giraffes and other animals can be seen in close vicinity of the camp and at night an occasional roar of a wild animal only adds to the reality of being in the wild.but one is very well watched over to feel secure.
The location was excellent as for game viewing -we were able to watch lion hunts close to the lodge,
My two night stay in Serengeti was made memorable due the comforts of asanja Africa .

We are a family of 8 who traveled to Tanzania and wanted to experience not only the animals but people as well. Asanja Africa is THE place to stay...even if you're not the tent camp type (we aren't). Each of the five tents is unique representing Maasi cultural ceremonies. As the grandparents, we got ENKIAMA, the marriage ceremony tent. But each is great with different colors...all first class with flushing toilets, electricity and solar heated showers.

The food and service are wonderful and the staff accommodated to the various taste and desires of our grandkids. Game watching in the area is phenomenal as are the vistas from your tent as the sun sets. That's when you hear the roar of lions and realize you're actually in the middle of the game park. A bush breakfast with anything and everything one could want was awaiting us upon our return from a morning game drive.

Jeremiah, the camp's manager saw to it everything went perfect. We enjoyed our time with the Maasi warrior, Nganeni who shared masaii customs with us and became our 6 year old grandson's new best firend. You are safe under his night watch of the camp. And they provide complimentary wine, beer, soft drinks and laundry service...can't get better than that!

Our two nights at Asanja were the best of our safari! Wish we had stayed longer (hint!). If you want the real bush experience with all of the luxuries of a five star hotel...this is the place.

Thanks Asanja Africa for your caring service and attention to details which made our stay the most memorable

Room Tip: They are identical except for decor and fairly close to one another. If you have mobility problems...

Asanja Africa was my favorite lodge in all of Tanzania. We were charmed by the luxury tents, the very attentive staff, and the serene surroundings. I do not camp here in the US, but even though these are tents, there have electricity, flushing toilets and showers in your tent. The food was excellent and the presentation equally as impressive. The animal viewing in the area is fantastic and you can even hear lions roaring at night. We felt safe and welcome at Asanja. As our trip continued on through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, I found myself missing Asanja Africa. Thank you for the unforgettable memories and unique experience.

Asanja was the highlight of our trip to the Serengeti and we wished that we had not booked hotel accommodation. The camp is perfectly located to get the real out in the open feel with the tents sympathetically placed so that you feel alone on the plain but safe. The staff were so friendly and attentive and wonderful food was served in the open . Tea in bed each morning was an added luxury as were the hot water bottles in the bed each night!
We loved the attention to detail in the furnishings ,the Masai stories surrounding the names of each tent and the presence of Ngeneni our personal masai warrior!
If we return to Tanzania ,we will return to Asanja and cannot recommend it highly for all ages.

Asanja was jus not a night BUT IT WAS A REAL EXPERIENCE. Asanja is one of the best holiday hotels that i have ever stayed at. Its closest to nature you can ever be. With the busd dinner where from a distance you can see glittering eyes of the animals while you are sittin and enjoying a proper 5 course meal under the glittering sky.

From the rooms to the staff and the food i would recomenend it as being heaven on earth. On the last day it was very difficult to convience myself to leave the place. Asanja just grows on you each hour as the day goes. The maasai Nganeni was extra special on the whole trip from all the stories he told us and the bar man who made us refreshing cocktails on sundowners.

I will definately come back and stay with Asanja Africa in the serengeti and am looking forward to the opening of their new property in Zanzibar.
