We have stayed at Dunia Camp for three nights in August 2011.
The Camp is a relatively small camp so you feel at home very quickly.
It is a beautiful area of the Serengeti to explore and observe wildlife.
The Staff lead by manager Peter and his assistent Richard are excellent, friendly and relaxed. They always made time to talk to everbody in the camp.
The tents are comfortable and well equipped.
Before dinner you can enjoy around the fireplace to share your stories of the day with other guest and the staff
In the moirning they serve tea or coffee in your tent. The overall quality of the food is very good.

Our guide Pantana showed us all the beautiful places in the area, nothing was too much for him and he told us a lot about the nature and the animals that live in that area.

We will never forget the evening game-drive he was dressed in his original Masai outfit(great!)
and wait for the sunset Anouschka and I with a glass of wine and Pantana had a nice soft drink.
We enjoyed 4 wonderful days in Dunia Camp that we will never forget.
Thank you and we hope to see you again !

Words can't describe it, Dunia was fantastic, We were treated like princesses every step of the way, from being greeted with a cool towel to wipe the dust away to the extravagant dinners, lunches and brekky's. Truly spoilt!! Dunia has that initimate atmosphere like you're part of their family. Our guide Thompson was exceptional, and he has a great wealth of knowledge of the Serengeti. The manager, Richard was very professional along with the rest of the staff. We absolutely loved it and highly recommend anyone going to Central Serengeti to definitely stay at these luxury tents.

Dunia is similar to Lemala except that the tents are larger and the nights are warmer. Here in the Central Sarengeti, miles from any other accommodation, we can't believe how dark it can be, like atop a mountain without any other sources of light and where the stars have never glowed more clearly. Yet the management team under Peter and Richard, his assistant, is resourceful and able to provide for all our needs.
Dunia feels a bit more luxurious than Lemala, but the dining experience for both is equally of a high standard. One night we dined on butternut squash soup, stuffed chicken, and warm cake over yogurt. The wine is South African. Both the wine and spirits are unlimited and complimentary. The fellowship built around a roaring firepit before dinner lends to spirited dinner conversations.
The shower works like the Lemala shower--manually filled buckets of hot water. The toilet takes 10 minutes between flushes. There is no running water for the lavatory. A pitcher of water poured into the basin reminds me of the washrooms in western movies.
Try to get any of the 8 tents that are closer to the main tent. With all the animal sounds while sleeping, the closer tents give the impression that they are accessible to help if needed.
Dunia offers the level of luxury accommodations set in the wild that I was looking for in an authentic safari.

From the minute we arrived Peter and his team were superb.
Great food and service. Accommodation is what it says.... camping at a luxury level
You don't spend too much time in the camp though ... the drives from here are fantastic with lions and elephants, plus lots of others, literally on your doorstep!

To start out, we would like to Thank the Manager Peter, our Guide Thompson, and all the other wonderful staff, that made our stay at Dunia Camp wonderful. From arrival, to departure, Dunia Camp treats you like a part of their family. They come greet you before and after every game drive, make special food for you(Vegetarian food for us, without any trouble). The tents were well kept, clean and modern. The food for every meal, was simply gourmet, almost felt like you were eating at a Michelin starred restaurant. DUring our stay here, we also had the opportunity to use their open vehicle for game drives, And I believe, they are the only camp to have one in the central Serengeti, and that too only one vehicle. Every lunch was special and different, sometimes they would set up tables out between the trees, and before dinner there would be a big bon fire for all the guests to Socialize. Definitely moments to remember. Apart from Dunia Camp being wonderful, its location is perfect, at first we thought it was far off, being between two hills, but it was there that we saw the most animals, giraffes, zebras, elephants, gazelle, lions, hyenas, you name it. The highlight of our stay was the last night there, where unlink every other night, when you just hear the lions and elephants roar and rumble, this time we heard them kill two zebras. There were two lions that killed two zebras, and you could hear it all in your tent as you slept. THe munching of their bones, the loud cracking of the bones, to chewing of their flesh, hear it all.The lions were followed by the Hyenas, who came by later that night to finish up the leftovers, and absolutely cleaned up the kill site, leaving no remains, but the blooded grass area for us to see the next morning, and allows us to paint a vivivd picture. And all this happened just outside your tent. You can hear it, but not see it. A great experience in all, and one that has left us with many tales to tell to our friends and family upon our arrival back home!
