Seronera is part of Serengeti NP located in its central park with air strip for small planes. The endless plain, stretched out as far as the eye could see. Here one has chance to see all big5. However we could not see illusive black Rhino here.

Seronera comes alive in the dry season when there is action around every water body - there are a few including the river of the same name. However in February we could see Lions, Cheetah, Leopard, cape buffaloes, hippo, gazelles, hyenas, baboons and all kind of birds. We see number of lions (Lion, lioness and cubs) mostly sleeping under tree or on pride hills. We could see leopards on tree top giving different poses. We were lucky enough to get a close encounter with cheetah (Mother with 4 cubs) as well.

We stayed 2 nights in central Serengeti. I feel 1 night is adequate in February/March. We preferred to go back to Arusha by flight to avoid 6 hrs strenuous drive on bumpy dirt road. This was our wise decision.
Don't be afraid to try the "bush toilet" if you need to.

So exciting. A mama and her cubs eating and relaxing just a few hundred yards from us. They were so graceful.

Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, Elephants, Impalas, Nus, Zebras, Hyenas ...the infinite plain of Serengeti at its best.
Several campsites will allow you to FEEL nature. Very recommendable. Even the long ride to get there can be worth it if you take it as part of the adventure. For me it is the synonym for Safari.
Dr. Livingstone, I presume?

We camped here. Hyenas came very near during the night but other than making noise and bringing an interesting smell, they didn't disturb us much. Fabulous to feel so close to so many animals. Very dry (in Feb when we were here) therefore a great place to watch the stars. Simple amenities but all you need when on the go. A bit too crowded for my liking however. Saw a lot more jeeps than animals unlike the ten other safaris I participated in. Saw many animals unfortunately being distraught by close encounter with people in jeeps rather than left to live a more normal life. Sad state of affair.
