“Serengeti National Park”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 7, 2013

We used Hamerkop adventure safaris for a 7 day trip to the Serengeti. Our guide was Ernesto Mushi, who is a very well established and experienced guide who gave us a first class tour around the park. We saw the big 5, the migration, a lion kill etc. He was attentive, nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent. It was very good value for money and very enjoyable.

“nice and unique”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

We loved the outdoor shower, the view over the Serengeti and the room in general. It was clean and comfortable. However there is NO AC and it can get quit hot esp since they recommend you leave the windows closed because monkeys and critters can easily get into your room. The dining room is huge but seemed a bit pretentious for our liking. They serve alcohol but its minimal because the owner is Muslim so they outsource the alcohol to another company which charges top dollar and even though they have a large alcohol menu they don't actually have much of the things they claim to have.
Its a really nice place though, the food was good, its clean, its unique and its comfortable.

“serengeti camping with savanna and ocean explore”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

it was amazing trip for me and our family friends, this was special experience ,because we always love the nature and we got to stay right in nature.it was a big different relationship we had with the nature around us,especial during night time for all of our stay in serengeti at pimbi public campsite, the elephant was about twenty in total was just around us and we were slept in the tents, just imagine the small tents with big elephant want to step on it. it was crazy safari ,but our guide peter also was crazy too ,he walked by himself towards elephants and chased them away after he got to the car .it was nice and unforgotable trip we made by savanna and ocean explore and peter our safari guide.

“Serengeti Camping with Wayo Africa - Magical!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2013

I wanted to share our experience in the Serengeti because it was so cool!

We stayed for 5 days in the Serengeti, all the time at the Wayo Africa camp. I found this to be an extra-special experience because we got to stay right in nature, and it was a different relationship we had with the nature around us from when we were in the safari vehicle.

Unlike in the vehicle, when we were in camp we got to hear and see things we wouldn't have otherwise. Before dinner each night we got to sit around a campfire and chat with each other, and were served drinks and snacks. Dinners were pretty good, and I liked that the camps were private -- just our family, or during part of it, our family plus some friends (and their kids) who had joined us.

I was kind of wary about the beds - as you do stay in proper tents, but the beds were more comfortable than ours at home! (that might be a bad thing!) I got an extra pillow, and things were even better! The current tents fit 2 - 3 people each so our family of 4 slept in two tents, but I hear Wayo Africa is getting new larger tents so maybe we'd all fit in. Then again, it was nice to have that special time with each child!

Note: It's not safe for young kids to run around camps -- they have to be with an adult at all times!! Our kids are 8 and 4 years old and we kept them close. We could see lions from one of our camps (we stayed in 2 different ones) so I always figure it's better safe than sorry!

At one point during our trip we did stay in a lodge, and while I was kind of excited for "luxury" I found, to my surprise, that I missed being close to nature.

If you want to read my blog post on one of the days we spent in the Serengeti on this trip, go to http://traveltanzania.wordpress.com/2013/03/10/an-unforgettable-day-in-the-serengeti/ It's just too long to share here, but suffice it to say, it was one of the best days in my life!

“Last minute safari with Gosheni Adventures was great!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 20, 2013

We (six people: one Brit, three Americans and two Ugandans) organised our safari with Gosheni Adventures at the last minute. We were relaxing on the beach in Zanzibar and realised we had a few days spare so we got in contact with Peter.

Peter was incredibly helpful, willing and able to answer all of our questions and managed to prepare and organise an itinerary for us at short notice that suited our needs (predominantly time and budget). After speaking to Peter on the phone numerous time (he has great English) in order to finalise out last minute plans and to seek his advice we decided to fly from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro Airport as it was the only flight we could get. Peter met us at the airport with smiles and took us to our hotel.

The next day, the first day of our adventure, Peter introduced us to one of his best drivers/guides, Ollie (also known as Jeremiah). Over the course of the three days Ollie demonstrated not only that he was a considerate and careful driver and that he was a very capable guide, but also that he was honest, likeable and sincere. With a great knowledge of the area (the animals, people and culture) Ollie kept us entertained and interested for the duration. He had amazing eyesight and was able to see and point out all of the different animals and birds in the parks (even while driving). We visited Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area and Lake Marayana National Park. Both were beautiful. Although we didn’t see any of the big cats (as we didn’t spend enough time on safari and did not venture to the Serengti) we did see (up close) elephants, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, buffalo, impalas, mongoose, monkeys and baboons.

All in all we had a great time. We were particularly pleased with the accommodation provided as part of the package at Endoro Lodge. Beautiful setting, great rooms, food and staff.

We were well looked after by Peter and Ollie. We would highly recommend Gosheni Aentures.
