We were there for four nights. This area is absolutely Africas finest national parc. During migration of course the quantity of wildebeests, zebras and cats is overwhelming .Even the normally well hidden leopards show and we saw four of them with cubs. As we saw most of the famous parcs in East and Southern Africa, this was by far the best and highly recommendable, and if nit only for the lovely and breathtaking landscapes with its typical acacias.

“Base Camp Tanzania”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013 via mobile

We have just returned from an amazing safari with this company. A group of 4 of us did a 7 day camping safari as detailed on their website. Achmed was very prompt at replying to our emails, and was flexible when we were having problems with our bank.

Our guide (Iddy) was fantastic, very friendly and polite, and was AMAZING at spotting animals, we saw so much. He was also very good at getting away from the crowds of other jeeps closer to the campsite to find some 'private' animals for us.

The food was good (and plenty of it), lots of water (and hot drinks fro breakfast and dinner and juice for lunch) camping equipment relatively new, the jeep was fine with room for 4 comfortably. I think you could accommodate 6 but more than that might be a bit overcrowded. It is a lot of money (certainly to us) but given the equipment, petrol, entrance fees wages etc we thought it was very good value.

We didn't really need to spend any other money for our whole trip, and really only bought souvenirs and beers. Remember to bring a torch (and spare batteries)

I would absolutely recommend this trip to others.

“Smart Africa Safaris for poor Tanzanian safari experience”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

We took a five day two night safari trip from Africa Smart Safaris Ltd. Soter Clemence Mutambalik the manager lied to us that there were three Spanish who had joined already and our joining could cost lower. He also said we could pay in credit card. Things went wrong from there, he tricked us to do cash advance from credit card instead of visa payment.

On the next day the driver Salim picked us up on time at 9am. It we have to wait for 1.5 hour for him to get lunchbox, fuel, get another japanese whom Soter tricked into our tour about a holland guy joining, another Egyptian guy who only joined a day tour to Tangarie national park (our first day schedule). We saw Soter and asked him about the Spanish and he lied that they had stomach problem and would join the same night. We were at the gate at 12:30pm and can only stayed in the park for 3.5 hours. The driver was just a driver not a guide. He wanted to end early and just that we pushed him to stay longer and we had half hour more.

Of course the Spanish did not come that night, the cook Mase was slow on cooking and his food was salty. We thought he was new on this freelance job. The next morning we had to wait for an hour from our 8am scheduled start, for a new girl who fell on Soter's trap to join, for the cook slow packing. Later the driver made us wait another half hour to pay for bank-in for park entrance payment (shouldn't it be done before ?). Later the driver was caught and fined for a flat tyre and that took us another half hour.

There are too many things going wrong : the cook does not know how to set up the tent, his food stayed on lousy, the driver was not really familiar with Serengeti and kept asking other drivers around for the animals. He did not have much planning about the areas to go ant we kept around Serenora and can stay on the road without seeing any animals.

Don't trust Africa Smart Safaris Ltd and Soter Clemence Mutambalik

“Best location in the Serengeti”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2013

The Seronera area is one of the best area's in the huge Serengeti.
The Seronera area is in the middle and here you can find many Leopards since this is a good habitad for them.
You can also find plenty of other wildlife such as Lions (a lot of times near the Kopjes) elephants, Giraffe etc.
There are several lodges and camps where you can stay in in this area.

“Yellowstone on steriods”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

Unbelievable place. My wife and I went in February and experienced the migration - which is beyond adequate description. We saw essentially every species of wildlife you could think of. I could go on and on, but just say you must go if you can. I have visted Yellowstone National Park in the US many times - the Serengeti is Yellowstne on steriods.
