“Exhausting but exhilarating!”
Review of Mount Kibo

Mount Kibo
Reviewed July 26, 2012

The toughest thing I've ever done, physically and mentally, but well worth it.

A beautiful trek up the Rongai Route for 5 days, and then it hits you at midnight with -20 degrees and 75 mph winds on the final ascent: 9 hours of 'breathe, step, slide back, breathe'.

Good luck!

Thank Karl G

Uhuru Peak is a great trek, what could be better than watching the sun rise over Africa, below you? It's not difficult, other than the altitude and if you pick the right route and the right guide service, you will make it to the top!

My trip to the top of kilimajaro was an incredible journey that i will remember for the rest of my life. The amazing views and unbelievable sunrises will stay with me forever along with the feeling of having overcome the monumental challenge of climbing the highest mountain in Africa. Without my wonderful guide, Rogit(?), it would have been so much more difficult, maybe even impossible and not to mention a lot less fun. You will be hardpressed to find a more professional, caring, motivating and friendly person to lead you up the mountain and it was a joy to be around someone who so obviously loves his job. I can't imagine having a better guide and i strongly recommend him to anyone who is considering climbing the "kili". From our first meeting untill we said goodbye back down at the bottom again he was a constant source of inspiration and will always have a special place in my heart and memories.
