“STOLEN IN HOUR ROOM”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Unfornatly we were stolen in our room while we were enjoying the journey in the beach. We think it was someone from hotel, probably the room cleaner, because 250 euros disapear from a wallet which was holding 350 euros in total, leaving there the rest of the money, camaras, movil phones and other value stuff.

On the other hand, the place is nice, the beach is wondeful, and the service is ok, except for the manager who gave us the explanation that we got stolen beacuse we are in Africa, and we did not get away the money to keep away temptation. Shouldn¨t you have a honet staff working at your hotel so I can be relaxed on my holidays?

Room Tip: The best rooms provided with bathroom are 250 m away from the beach front. The ones with the best lo...

Stayed over at Christmas and enjoyed the same way when I visited the first time 13 years ago! Thank you Dale and Erna, we had a lovely time and when we have time we will be back. Best beach location by far in Dar es Salaam.

I've booked in to stay just 3 nights, just to have the nice Sea Breeze atmosphere. After day 1, I booked for the rest of the week, stayed overall 7 nights.
If you want to break away from the daily rush, go there. You can buy internet vouchers, if you really need to have technology.

No, aircons, no fans, but you have a sea breeze that give you fresh air. I stayed in the Chalets, beds are very comfortable, you have your own bathroom, clean, not luxury,

I could find myself again after the years of rush and "keeping busy" I hanged in my hammock every day after a very nice breakfast, just listened to the singing of the birds.

Food a bit expensive, I think, as its not that great, but the service of the people, you will need to look far to exceed this.

I enjoyed it and would gladly go back on a next trip

Room Tip: Stay in a Chalet, the other places, although much cheaper, you have to share bathroom facilities and...

This was supposed to be the relaxing end to a 2 1/2 week stay in Tanzania so we opted for a luxury chalet. Our taxi ride from the airport took 1hr 50 by the long and supposedly quick route so we were pretty tired by the time we arrived, the receptionist was one of the least friendly people we met in our whole trip. So for our $80 we got a couple of mattresses on the floor under a mossie net (luckily we had tape to cover the holes), a balcony with a hammock from which we could just about hear the sea but not see it. A bathroom downstairs which had seen better days and when we told the receptionist that the toilet water was leaking into the shower she didn't seem inclinded to do anything about it. A cooked breakfast was also included and wasn't too bad, the waitress was lovely. And that was it, no complimentary water or glasses unlike everywhere else we had stayed, we had to buy it from the bar. No toiletries except for 2 bars of very cheap soap. We didn't feel safe (there are warning signs up to not carry valuables and to be aware of thugs by the creek). The beach is lovely and we enjoyed a pre breakfast swim but we didn't walk far. We checked out after only one night and found somewhere else to stay. This place would probably be OK if you went for the cheapest accommodation and had low expectations.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the deluxe chalets/bungalows, total rip off for $80

- Toilets were clean
- Showers were cold (but didn't mind in the heat)
- Camped right against the beach
- Was restful
- Bar was good, but like most of Tanzania plagued with power outages for long periods. So not always cold.

exorbitant prices for food that can only be described as completely disappointing. even the drinks weren't cold. shower and toilet facility is an intolerable health hazard. spoke to the european owner - unbelievable - he was drunk and belligerent, and the staff told me timidly that his condition is the norm. entire experience: awful. beautiful beach though. i'll be using the neighboring resorts for weekend beaching and dining.

stayed here for 2 nights at the luxury banda on the back side, the hut was so lovely the beach is wonderfully here than Zanzibar!! no tide rotation no sea weed on the beach/ less tourists and less beach boys on the beach unlike Zanzibar.
the security is so good, i felt very safe during my stay, Tumaini at main reception was wonderful , the room was spacious with balcony with hammock.
the food can improve a bit, felt like was overpriced and was so blunt taste wise.
overall is decent place and the best location for relaxing!!!!!

Room Tip: bandas at the back side
