At Velisa's the unwritten bits of the menu are the most mouth-watering: the side dishes of little cassava cakes, stir-fried greens with sesame seeds, fried sweet plantains, unexpected seasonings - absolutely delicious. Of course the 'stars' of the dishes are great too; my favourite is the snapper. There are several delightful vegetarian dishes and they usually have tofu (more rarely the goat's cheese). Big satisfying main dishes that are inventive, delicious, light and even a bit healthy... what's not to like? My recommendation is to skip the starters (not great value for money) and to order a variation of a rum cocktail. The venue is in the open air on the Kawe beachfront, under trees, charmingly decorated. Good service too.
