This is a lovely hotel with a fabulous pool area and beach. . I would recommend this hotel for a short break or a week but probably not for just a day.
we spend our easter holidays here in changani,,was a abulous experience to get such a hospitality, especially the staffs r extra ordinary .
Mr manooj the manager was so professional in meeting the guest needs ,very much thankful for him nd his team to keep us in a enjoyable season, thank you all ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

We stayed 7 days and only needed a place to sleep since we had a very active vacation.
We only spend 2 evenings in our room, very much to our satisfaction.
The value for money is very good, the staff very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast is well organized and, next to the traditional continental ingredients, there was a good choice of local food.
However, for us this was the perfect spot from which to start and end our itinerary.
they all treated us professionlly
we njoooyed!!!!

I stayed with my wife & kid at this hotel in during ester holydays & we really liked this place . The cottage are excellent with ocen veiw . The food has a lot of options to include Indian Menu which adds a lot of varieties to choose from. the breakfast was good. The staff, to include the manager Mr Manoj even volunteered to asist us up themselves when we had a problem of our way to resort .
once again thanks for your hospitality we will came back soon.

Room Tip: i like bahari cottage with a nice veiw

We went during the easter holidays:
1. the location on google maps is 22 kms difference than the actual location
2. the road was so bad that my car bumper came down. the management later informed they have another better road. we had planned and booked the holiday with a group of 22 people in advance. the management did not even bother to inform
3. the cottage samaki is the only best cottage in the property. the pool is ok.
4. they have a pool table which looks in a complete knocked out with tapes put on patches of the tables
5. the FOOD and SERVICE is completely a down.
6. We were served with buffet dinner and by the time we went in to take our meal most of the food was over and cold. when we asked them they said the food is over and we were charged
7. the view is good but not at this condition
8. the kitchen of the restaurant is much smaller than my home kitchen. it had only one burner to cook breakfast for 50 guests. breads went out of stock. you order and someone else would get it. to make sure all our group gets the breakfast on time and we leave i had to literally go in the kitchen.
The COOK was a nice person but the manager Mr. MANOJ should go back and learn some hospitality

Room Tip: Carry your own food if you are vegetarian.

Changani is very good and amazing place. It’s really beautiful and nice place to spend time with friends and family.
Accommodation is enjoyable with verandas as well as ocean views. Food is also appreciated.
We really appreciate and thanks to Changani’s Staff, who gave us better service.

We spent New years eve to 6/1/14,with my wife and teenage children (17, 14)
Hotel:
Great location in 20-25km south of Dar es salaam, on the beach/coral reef.
Hotel best booked directly with management, for great offers, as opposed to Agoda.
Hotel is set up with cottages that can take 2,4,6,8,10 people. Some have amenities of small kitchenettes, some have bunk beds for kids, many en-suite bathrooms, most have Air con and fans, all beds with mosquito netting, many jave beautiful verandas outlooking to the pool or mostly the sea. We stayed in Samakai cottage and 2 nights in Jihazi cottage. Great views. The restaurant is located centrally, there is a dining area by the pool, room service can be arranged for almost anything re food/drink..
There is the occasional night when central electricity goes off and the hotel generator takes over. We had no problems with sleep (went in Summer), cool sea breezes help, hardly any mosquitos, but we took precation with jungle formula repellants daily.
food:-excellent, from simple chicken and chips to exotic currys, Asian dishes, Chinese dishes, barbecues... either use set menu or dicuss with chef (Arshad-great cook, very experienced) or the manager(Veeru, great guy, helpful and understanding to your needs, will negotiate a deal regarding half/full board).water/soda drinks cost 2500TZS; all electricity plugs -British 3 pin type
Getting to hotel:-
From centre of Dar, there is a sea tributary that can either be crossed taking your car/taxi using a ferry for 10 mins (takes 1.5hrs altogether) or by road going around it, 1/2 hour more travelling. Taxi cost 100,000TZS for the ferry route and 120,000TZS for the 2nd route.there a re a few scattered road signs near the hotel, but the taxi driver needs to make sure he knows the route.
Leisure:-
swimming pool: clean, deep/shallow ends., one children's pool, lit at night
watching local wild monkeys from surrounding jungle, harmless
neighbourly horse riding school
Beach- almost secluded, hardly anyone there, white sand, coral reef- great for snorkelling and fishing, jogging on beach, hotel has some snorkelling equipment, best bring your own, walks around hotel or on beach, star gazing in night- clearest skies I/ve seen,
Facilities to come:-
In January, I am informed that WIFI connections will be completed, and prospects of TVs alos be available., erection of more cottages

Room Tip: discuss directly with manager, Veeru
