“cool place to hang out”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

right by the sea, good seafood and local beer. I wasn't paying, but would have been happy to - prices looked OK.

“Sunsets on Oyster Bay don't get any better”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

A great waterfront open air restaurant with unobstructed views of the sunset. Food is versatile, with alot of good seafood. Service is very good and waitstaff are attentive and polite. When it is hot outside, there always seems to be a nice breeze. Tables have straw umbrellas and several seating areas under the roof for permanent protection from rain.

“Great view, good meal”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

The view is what keeps us coming back.
We haven't encountered anything we didn't like on the menu -- the fish mishikaki and red snapper are tasty, though sometimes overcooked.
Portions are filling and prices are comparable to other similar restaurants in Dar.
They are always busy in the evenings and despite quite a few staff service can be slow.
Get there early for a table along the waterfront.

“Convenient if staying in Slipway Hotel, sea at your toes”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

The restaurant is famous for its view and sunsets. It is located at the very sea line and is a logical choice for those staying in Slipway Hotel, two minutes away from it. We are eating there every day during our stay in Slipway (seven days). There is a bar, but music is not much, at least not during lunch and dinner (9 PM). Sitting is outside, there is a kitten there at the moment, but craws can be a nuisance. Staff is not exceptionally nice, they are just kind as much as they have to be. In the early afternoon and evening it is usually crowded so it slows the service down a bit. No wi fi. See the photos for the menu, try Mtori soup, red snapper fillet and pineapple boat (looks better than it tastes, but it is not bad and is much better alternative to ice cream, which is the only other sweet thing they have), you can miss grilled changu, many bones, poor taste. There is a more Western menu (pasta, pizza, meat), but we are testing local dishes and fish. Different kinds of local beer available, as well as of foreign beer, cider is nothing much, only passion fruit and mango juice available. It is not at all cheap here so it is probably worth checking around and finding places that are not close to this posh hotel area.

“Tasty thin crust pizza”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

A very fine example of ultra thin crust pizza. Relaxing views across the bay. As one review already mentioned - glacial service. The setting is really the attraction.
