For a study project we stayed in Dar es Salaam for two weeks. During the first week of the project our lunch and dinner consisted mostly out of Wali Kuku, Wali Nyama, and Wali Samaki (Rice with chicken, meet or fish). During our project we spent most of our time in the Temeke District of Dar es Salaam, so our first visit (of a total of 3) to the Waterfront was a revelation. It was the first time in weeks we saw so many white people together, I quote a friend of mine who said "Where do all these Mzungu's come from?"
The first time I ordered a Pizza, the second time the Pasta with King Prawns, and during the last visit I enjoyed the pork chop pasta with pesto. All dishes tasted very good and every time we arrived (with approximately 9 - 12 people) the personnel directly started running around to create place for us to have dinner.
The view at the waterfront is very nice, you can see the sunset and enjoy the skyline of Dar es Salaam at night.
